In May of 2007 I got onto the Internet and googled government grants. I got a call the very next day from a Marvin Lee with United Fulfillment Bureau.

He promised that if I sent $299.95 immediately he would send me an application and I would have my money by July 4th.

My account was debited on May 24th 2007 for $299.95. I called the previous day and left a message on his machine not to take out the money. It was taken out anyways. My account went negative and I was charged a fee.

I called and had to keep leaving messages on his voicemail. I then called the customer service number and was told that Marvin Lee was no longer with them. I complained that the money was taken out even though I said no.

The same woman who Always calls me back said that I could not get a refund until I sent the application packet back. The day I received it I sent it back. I called 6 weeks later asking why I had not received my refund check yet.

The same lady said I sent the packet back wrong that I was supposed to open it and do special things then send it back a special way at the post office and that I would not get a refund.

I screamed and cried and explained that I had 2 children, 6 and 1, and my oldest was blind. I thought I had seen a ray of light when I spoke to Marvin and was promised money for my very own home for my girls.

She "talked to her boss" and said she could only give back $100.00. I threatened to call a lawyer and she yelled back, "I don't have to give you back anything if you are going to threaten to sue." I calmed down.

I again explained my situation as a single mother and she again "talked to her boss" I was told they most they were willing to give was $260.00 keeping $39.95 for "postage and handling". I wasn't happy, but reluctantly agreed.

It has been 5 months since this all started and I have yet to receive that refund. The same lady always calls me back. She said that maybe I hadn't received it in the 4 weeks because of the holiday (9/3) at the post office.

I told her I would wait until September 18th and if I hadn't received it I wanted another check sent out. I called Sept. 18th and did just that. She said it would take 2 weeks to receive the replacement check.

I have yet to receive the replacement check. The last action I have taken is leaving a message October 5 stating I had contacted the BBB and I was going to do whatever I can to make sure they would never do this again.
