Briefly, an iPhone was bought from Universal Electronix an ebay seller which was advertised as "New iPhone 4-S Factory unlocked SIM-Free 16-GB Black A++ Grade W/Accessories". Everything was fine for a while, but when the phone developed a fault the seller didn't give me any assistance so I contacted Apple. It was then that I found out the manufacturer's warranty had expired since the phone was first used on the AT&T network in the USA on 17th October 2012. After much negotiation, the seller agreed to replace the phone which was done in August 2014. However, this phone has faults with it as well (microphone and headphone jack problems) and is also out of its manufacturer's warranty. At this point I want my money refunded to purchase a phone from a trustworthy source with a warranty, which the seller is refusing.
It is fraud if a company sells a product as new when it has been used for over a year.
I have filed a fraud report and taking the company through the small claims court to get my money refunded.
Beware of this seller. They are on ebay as Universal Electronix but this is a trading name of Electronix R Us, based in Milton Keynes in the UK.
