I needed a short term loan, and don't have perfect credit. The day after visiting a few websites, I got a phone call saying I was approved for up to $5000.00. The guy called me with all my information, at first it sounded pretty legit. It would be a $2000.00 loan and I would pay it off monthly for the next 10 months. This sounded like the ideal situation for me to catch up on bills. I was then told to put money on a greendot card basically to make sure they knew I was serious about paying the loan back, and that after 20 minutes I would get the money back.

After I did that he told me that the bank had a hold on the loan until taxes on the loan had to be paid. This got me feeling a little uneasy, but all I was seeing were the $$$ coming my way, and having a little less stress from late bills. As soon as I sent the second amount I just knew I had been scammed. After not hearing from this guy after awhile (considering he called me nonstop that day and the day before just to get my business), my furious wife called him and threw the word lawyer out there.

He called me right back and said that the transaction was going through until my wife called him and his company a scam and so he stopped it from being deposited. i called the FTC, and filed a complaintt and closed my bank account immediaty. After about an hour, I got another phone call from a different number from a man (middle eastern), who wanted to know how much money I sent that day and who I talked to. I told him that he should know all of that. He claimed to be The CEO of cashnetusa. When I told him that's not the company name the other guy told me, he tried to say he was over both companies.
