I am a Service Disabled veteran, so I joined USAA for auto insurance.  I loved the slogan regarding veterans and active duty service members.  I had both my home and auto policies with USAA.  My car was caught in the flooding here in Houston during the week of January 15, 2017.  My car was totaled, and USAA made an offer way below market value.  I printed the NADA information and showed them.  Their response was "that NADA information is inaccurate".

USAA uses this company called CCC One to run their market valuation reports.  I reviewed the information provided by CCC One and found their information and methodology flawed'

  1. All the cars listed were several months old
  2. Most of the companies were in small obscure towns with depressed economies.  Thus, lower prices.
  3. One company's phone was disconnected
  4. Two companies told me the cars they sold had transmission trouble and were sold "as is".  That was reflected in the price.
  5. One company said the motor was bad, so the vehicle was sold "as is".  This is why the vehicle was sold for a low price.

I realized USAA was charging me more than double what other companies were charging for home owners insurance. I contacted them and they said that was their rate. I changed companies later that month. I paid USAA $5,5271.00 per year for coverage. My new company charges $1,927.12, for the same coverage.

I believe USAA uses CCC 1 to shield itself from the inaccurate and misleading information they provide.  This was USAA gets to defraud its Veteran Customers and their families and claim it was the other person.
