Venture Marketing Solutions Complete waste of time and total liars!!!! Alexandria Virginia

I interview with Venture Marketing Solutions and they told me I would be working on a marketing campaign for Verizon Wireless. It sounded really interesting and the position was for helping Verizon become more popular for businesses in the area. I was told it was a salary position and not comissioned. Since I drove 4 hours for this interview he said that i would have a second interview the next day. He told me to expect to be there from 9-2.

When I arrived the next morning I was told 9-6. I had skipped my college classes for this interview so I had high expectations. I job shadowed with a woman. First of all she drove a really crappy car and did not put the companys image first. She was a heavy smoker and I felt sick the whole day. She got a map of a territory and we drove around all day to lie our way into to businesses. She said that she was from Verizon and she needed to check for updates and basically had to lie her way into starting to talk to the businesses about Verizon Phone Services.

It was totally random and door-to-door. I was supposed to learn that day and I did. I learned I never wanted to do sales. At the end of the day, she was like do you think you want this job? I replied no I see myself working in an office environment. She answered that working in an office place can be dangerous and you don't get to be creative. When I returned to the office at 6:30 I had to take a test to see what I had learned about the company. When I had an interview later with the CEO I gave him a piece of my mind. The employees get paid 100% of what they sell in that day.

I told him that this was a complete waste of my time and you have insulted my intelligence and schooling. I was about to graduate and I didn't go to school and work hard for 4 years to do door-to-door sales. I really was so ticked off that I had wasted so much time and money to bust my butt to get down there and I was lied to. I left the office yelling in hopes of the other people hearing me.
