Over a month ago, I received a call on my cell phone from a Verizon rep. asking if I want to change my plan from the usual 400 anytime minutes to 450. I then asked and was told that it means I have to agree to an additional 1 year contract. I then told the lady no I am not interested because my 2 years contract is almost up. Now that my contract is up this past month, I checked my bill, now my monthly 400 anytime minutes was divided into 2 sections. One with 195 minutes to use between 4/3-4/25 and 120 minutes to use between 4/26-5/03.... wtf... add that together and I only have 315 anytime minutes...that is not even my usual 400 minutes or their 450 minutes they changed my plan to.

To make it worst, they billed me for the "over usage" minutes there after. I was pissed off and I visited my local mall where I purchased my contract. I spoke to the rep and he said he changed my plan back to the way it was and I check online this morning and it was still the same 450 minutes they changed me to without my approval. I want to file a suit against these idiot that are ripping off people.

recevied a new contract agreement from Verizon, but, for another 2 years!

AUTHOR: T - (U.S.A.)

Thank-you for your reply but if they are charging me for minutes I am entitle to, then they are short-changing me. To update what has happened since, I recevied a new contract agreement from Verizon this past week. I was shock when it read I agreed to a new contract with them and when I looked closer, it was another two years contract from the date I went to see the rep at the mall again. I was pissed off, the guy didn't change my plan back to the way it was as he has told me....as i remembered, he even said I no longer have a contract...it ended on 3/23/05. I finally called Verizon to settle this. I found out from them that when I visited the counter at the mall to pay my phone bill on 4/26/05....they took it on themselve to sign me up another two years. All I wanted was to pay my bill, I didn't even talk to the guy. Was I stupid to agree to another 2 years? When I approached them on 5/11/05 to ask about this, they decided to make it another 2 years from 5/11/05 again. They guys were dishonest and a thief as far as I am concern....oh, these guys are at Park City mall, Lancaster, PA...Chris is the one that I last spoke to and "supposably" helping me out by giving me a freaken 2 more years....it's all recorded on Verizon database. Verizon promise to change me contract back to the way it was...I've already fulfilled my 2 years...lets see what happen next.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

They didn't short-change you on your minutes...

Sorry that you had trouble with Verizon. I'm not all that satisfied with their service either. For being the "most reliable network in America", both of my phones with their service drop more calls in my area than my SunCom Wireless phone. Maybe it's the phone maker (I've never used a Samsung phone before)?

Anyways, about your problem. Yes, the rep who changed your plan did do so incorrectly and basically illegally. A customer service rep has NO business changing your plan unless you ask them to AND you confirm that with them that it has changed.

As for the minute usage, they might have short-changed you. What happens is that when your plan is changed, you will get "prorated" (partial month) minutes. If you look at your dates, you'll see why. From 4/3 - 4/25 is 22 days, and from 4/26 - 5/3 is 8 days. In a 30-day month, 400 minutes = 13.33 minutes/day. 22 days x 13.33min/day = 293 minutes. In a 30-day month, 450 minutes = 15 minutes/day. 8 days x 15min/day = 120 minutes. So you should have gotten 413 minutes for the month. I would speak to a supervisor about that.

I don't think their trying to rip you off. Also, whenever you view your usage online, it will NOT show ANY new plans until your next bill cycle. Your bill cycle date is usually near the due date.

Hope this helps!!!
