Customer Care #1 told me if I joined Verizon I could get a deal on my hotspot if I added a free phone and service.
CC# 2 said he did not know anything about getting my hotspot deal BUT once I had the phone activated I could then call up as an existing customer and THEN they could see about combining the hotspot for a better rate.
CC#3 said sorry, there is no discount to having a phone and hotspot, the other 2 cc told me the wrong thing.
Feeling a bit taken advantage of, I called back and spoke to CC#4 saying I just want to make sure there are no other charges besides the plan. "OH NO" said she. Really? Not even like tax? "Oh of course there is tax" said she. Well besides the tax are there ANY other charges? "There are NO other charges besides the tax."
Ok. Bill came today. $12.47 Taxes, surcharges and gov fees
AND $39.76 surcharges, explanation: to help offset taxes and other gov charges. Yep, that is what Verizon calls no other charges.
My total bill is $58 more than what it was at T-Mobile‬, with less of everything, data, navigation, etc.
The contract says I can cancel within 14 days. But I have received the bill on the 15th day, so there is a $350 cancellation fee.
I cannot understand how #Verizon can just flat out ‪llie to people and stay in business. Perhaps they thought I would be so delighted with the phone I would not mind being lied to. Not only did I cancel the phone, I canceled the hotspot because I want nothing to do with Verizon.
