About 4 years ago, the sale agent of Verizon Wireless at Topanga, CA sold me a Hot Spot device claiming I could use it for our Verizon smarphones in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. By the time we got there, we realized Verizon did not have coverage there, there was no way we could use it as a local WiFi for our phones. We got stuck with the device monthly charge for two years.

In November 2015, I got my phone upgraded in Henderson, NV, the salesman enticed me to buy a tablet on sale for only $50 dollars, the quality was so poor I had to go back to the store to "fix" it, but wound up not to use it at all. But the sage agent did not inform me the device came with monthly charge $10 which I later found out in my monthly statement.

I was asked to take the data program that was way above my average monthly use.

I travel a lot in Asia, used to turn off the service during my absence in US, but later it became a chargeable service suspension.

When I finally decided to discontinue my service with Verizon after two decade of being their loyal customer, no customer representative would honestly told me how much my penalty would be. When I paid my final bill at Verizon Wireless at Wesffild Shopping mall Annapolis, MD, I was assured that would be the final bill including all the penality, equipments, early termination of contract, etc. But yesterday I got another bill of $240 which I paid with credit card. The representative promised me to provide me an email address for the complaint, but all it came is the receipt of my payment. I had no choice but use this forum for my complaint.

Verizon Wireless only interests how to squeeze money out of their customers, their agents use all dishonest means to deceive the customers to purchase new devices that is not functional as claim, and commit them with monthly charge for the contract of two years.

Shame on them.

Verizon wireless kept billing after two payments

AUTHOR: - ()

Please refer to my original report 1358968

After two payments up to $400 dollars, two months after I have told them my termination of their services, they billed me again for $151 and apparently took the money off my auto pay bank account.

On the second billing the manager reassured me there would be no more billing, I would have cought up with all that I owed them by paying the $200 somewhat dollars. That would include the tablet early termination ( the tablet was a scam to begin with). This time they continued to claim, since I did not notify them the cancellation of  the tablet  the clock was still clicking. I had no other choice but to turn the case to my lawyer for the fear of them continue to bill me .

This is the most unpleasant experience with Verizon wireless, a giant company who wants nothing short of ripping their customers off. My advice to other customers:

Do not set up auto pay, try to stop auto pay the moment you sense an argument.

Do not trust any agent over the phone, or even the "manager", they deny they keep you waiting, and they don't honor what the previous committments.

Ask for black and white statement from them when there is a dispute.

Watch out any promotion of devices, make sure you don't get stuck with two years committment of a new line, or promises they never could keep and you had no way to complain.

Shame on Verizon wireless.
