I noticed a free trial offer on eye serum and skin lotion on the internet, and placed my order.  I've been fooled by the automatic renewal scam before, so I looked at all the pages leading up to my order to be sure that nothing was hidden in the small print that would result in further charges.  I didn't see anything.

I noticed when my order was placed that although I had only ordered two items, there was a third item on my order that I didn't expect (at full price, of course).  I called them immediately, and they removed the third item and credited my card appropriately.

Unfortunately, when I received my credit card statement for the month, there were the $4.95 charges for shipping only on the two items that I ordered, but there were also an $89.95 charge and an $85.97 charge two weeks later.  I tried to call the vendor directly to dispute the charges, but there was no phone number provided on my statement.  So I logged a dispute with my credit card service.  After working the case for the last few weeks, I've just received notice from my credit card service that the vendor has provided "proof" that I was properly warned about the automatic renewal.  They provided screen shots of web pages bearing my order information, that showed two places IN MY ORDER that alerted me to the renewal process.  I have no way of proving it, but I'm sure I never saw those pages, as I was specifically looking for this kind of scam when I placed the order.  If I'd seen this information, I never would have ordered the product.  This is not my first rodeo.

Since I cannot prove that the screen shots they provided are fraudulent, I'm dropping my dispute.  But I am extremely irritated to have been taken down this road, and I hope that they are prosecuted.
