My daughter talked me into trying the ViSalus products when I entered a weight loss challenge at my workplace.  I like the convenience of protein shakes which are quick and for the most part an expensive way to eat one or two meals a day.  After a week, I decided that the product was too sweet, too expensive, and that there were better products on the market. (such as Optimum Nutrition products)

I was set up for a once-a-month automatic shipment, and I let the shipments continue for a while, but gave the product to my daughter who needed to lose a lot more weight than I did.  By the way, I lost the weight without ViSalus by walking over 10,000 steps a day!  And that was free!

In August I tried to stop the shipments.  There is NO way to do this through their website.  They made sure that stopping their product is one of the hardest things that a customer could do.  From now on, before I ever get involved in something like this, I will get on their website first and look at their contact information and check out their customer service.  I called ViSalus the first time, and spent an entire lunch hour on hold and then talked to someone who said they would cancel the shipment, but that person then transfered me to someone who would give me instructions on mailing back the last shipment.  I was on hold for another 15 minutes when I had to hang up because I was late getting back to work.

Rather than deal with this company again, I decided to give my last shipment to my daughter again.  Thinking the whole ordeal was over, I put it behind me.

When I was paying my creditcard on line tonight, I saw that I had been charged AGAIN by this company for yet another shipment.  This time when I got on line, I saw where a "chat" had been installed.  It wasn't long before someone helped me, but they wanted to know why I was canceling and then wanted to set it up for less frequent shipments, etc.  This is after I told them I didn't even like their product.  What makes them think I would want more of something I didn't like in the first place?

I suppose there will always be a need for this type of company that set people up who need constant assurance and want to talk about the last 2 pounds they lost because they apparently have no life to speak of.  If a product is truly good, people will talk about it, and others will order it.  So if a company has to hide their information in order for customers to be stuck with their product, that should tell everyone it's no good.
