I repair vehicles on site for dealerships in my area. Many vehicles need extensive labor with a buffer to correct swirls, light oxidation and scratches. I had been looking for a good wipe on clear coat to try and cut out some of that labor, when I came across a video on youtube showing Vivilon Forevernu being applied to a vehicle, bringing back shine and filling light scratches.

I was intrigued and emailed Bill a few times. He answered my basic questions and seemed confident in his product. I ended up buying a quart of it for 295 shipped. It was quickly shipped and delivered and I found a dark colored vehicle with light scratches and swirls to test it out on. I masked off one fender, cleaned it with a soap solution, then lacquer thinner, and finally precleaner, like I would any panel I would paint. I then applied the product. I was amazed at how it filled the scratches, and brought back the shine. The coating self leveled beautifully! I left it to dry and came back half an hour later. I was surprised to find that most of the scratches and swirls had returned, and now the panel had windex like rainbow streaking.

I figured that I had done something wrong in my prep or application, so I called Bill. He explained that my prep had possibly left a residue that prevented the scratches from being filled, and caused the streaking. He told me to follow the instructions on the website precisely and it would work for me, and that it was so easy that he was able to teach a woman that had never worked on a car before how to do it in just a few minutes.

I ended up masking off the other fender and prepping it exactly according to the website. I applied the product, and gave it half an hour to dry. I returned to find the exact same streaking and none of even the lightest scratches filled. I ended up doing several more panels, exactly according to his instructions with the same poor results every time.

I ended up going to a yearly tech convention, and asked around if anyone else had tried the product. Two other technicians had tried it, with the exact same results as me.

When I got home I decided to file a dispute with paypal, as the product was not performing as described. Within a few hours I received an email from Bill saying that it was presumptuous of me to file a claim with out even asking him for help, and that I must have prepped the panel wrong.

I replied that I had talked to him on the phone, and had incorrectly prepped the first panel, yet when I correctly prepped the other panels according to the website, I still had the same poor results. He then replied that I must not be applying enough product and thats why its not filling scratches and is streaking. I then found another fender, masked it and applied as much of the product to the panel as was physically possible. Once again, the same results.

At this point I took photos of how I applied the product, and how it looked once it dried. After a few days he replied and said that the scratches in the photos looked bad because I took them indoors and the car would look better outside in natural light(it looks just as bad outdoors). He once again claimed that I was incorrectly prepping or applying the product, and said that out of 200 customers worldwide I was the only one that had a problem, and that if I wanted anymore help that I had to admit that the product works and that I must be doing something wrong. He then flat out said that he would not refund me my money.

So beware, when the product doesn’t work as advertised you will be blamed for not prepping or applying it correctly (their “warranty” is carefully worded that way) and they will not give you your money back. The before and after photos look great, but its only because the after photo is most likely taken before the product has dried, revealing the swirls and scratches once again. In fact when you look closely at the photos on their website you can still see some panels clearly showing scratches even when applied by them. I would have LOVED for this product to have worked. I invested 300 dollars to try it, I have every reason to try and prep it correctly and apply it correctly as I could make a ton of money if it had worked as described, but it just didn’t work for for me, or several other guys in my company. Hopefully this will save anyone else from dealing with a company that belligerently blames the customer when the product doesnt work the way they say it does. Hopefully paypal will make this right, as obviously Bill wont.

Reply to Vivilon Distributor

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Saturday, August 26, 2017

At this point Ive done a couple dozens panels with terrible results. Three of our R&D techs at our corporate headquarters tried and and had the same results as me. Other independent franchisees were unable to get it to work. Whatever Vivilon sent me would have to defy the laws of physics to fill scratches, as its not thick enough to even hide swirls.

As far as my prep, I have tried using the USP90 as suggested, Ive tried laquer thinner, waterborne precleaners, solvent precleaners, just water, and even nothing at all with a car that I know had no wax or contaminants. All the results on different panels are identical. Vivilon was no help, and when I sent the video of how I was applying the product to their distributor in Canada (who is now out of business) he didnt know why it wasnt working.

Ive attempted to work with Vivilon. I took a video of the process that I used and I sent the same video to owner Bill Rice, who never replied. All I asked for was a refund for this useless product, but all Ive gotten back are excuses and personal attacks from the owner. His marketing director was dumb enough to use his own name to reply to my amazon review pretending to be a happy customer. His latest trick was making about a dozen fake accounts on Youtube and facebook attacking me by name and praising the product. Half of the comments have since been removed by Youtube. All the fake accounts were deleted by Facebook. So if this is such an amazing product, why does the company have to resort to making up fake happy customers and threatening lawsuits to anyone that dares to say they can’t get it to work?

Never Had A Problem

I am a Vivilon repairer in Australia. I don't know what you are doing wrong and why you are getting bad results because I have repaired many vehicles, boats and other consumer goods without a single issue with the product. I have never had any rainbow streaking or scratches that have reappeared in fact all my customers have commented that the finished product is much better then they could ever have expected. Mate, you are doing something wrong. Maybe you should go to Vivilon themselves and get some proper training because you are obviously not cleaning the panels properly or you're taking shortcuts.

an update...

After Bill replied to my BBB claim with all sorts of wild accusations and blaiming me for not sending his distributer a video of how I was applying the product I actually took the time to take a video and send it to both Bill and the canadian distributor. Bill never replied and Vern basically said he was baffled at why it wasnt working. Its been a couple months and I havent heard from him since.

A friend let me demo the fender on their vehicle. About two months after I applied it in the video, the coating on the fender appears to continue degrading. All the scratches have completely returned and the fender has turned to a completely matt finish.

If you would like to see the video of me applying the product in detail, while reading the instructions off his website and following them to the letter here is the link:

Your right! There is more than one Lexus 350 in Graphite gray that were built in 2007. Still, out of the hundreds of thousands of vehicles that he could have done a demo on, the fact that vehicle is the same make, model and color of is a massive coincidence. Its also a huge coincidence how similar your writing and insults are to Bills.

I never said for sure that you were Bill, and as this is the internet, and you used an alias, I have no way of knowing if you are Bill or someone else, hence the quotation marks I used around “woman”. For all I know, you could be that "lady friend" who owns that car and you came on here to defend his product for him, even if it doesn’t work (which it may for someone else, yet my best attempts have yielded nothing!)

I have been called a liar and a slanderer, yet no one can point out even one lie Ive said. What an unbelieveable experience Ive had with this product and company!

I have never been mistaken for a man before!

I can see where the problem lies by the reply he wrote to my positive comment. He can't consider the fact that Lexus made mre than one graphite grey 350 in 2007. In fact, Lexus probably made at least several thousand. He is sure that the one in Vivilon's video is the only one Lexus made. And, it has to be Mr. Rice, not myself, giving my honest opinion of what a great product it is. Because he obviously has such a hate on for Mr. Rice, he leaves all common sense in his rear view mirror. He has called me a liar with no proof. Not even a smidgen. I am a woman. I am not Mr. Rice. I am not a liar, his insults notwithstanding. Anybody that gives any credence to his ridiculous, slanderous rantings and ravings has to be as big a fool as he is. More than just a fool, an idiot with no functioning brain stem at all.

But, I won't post here again. I actually have a life to get on with. I suggest he do the same, if he even has a life. Although, with a mindset like he demonstrated with me, he probably will post more gibberish! He will just continue to defame me, like he defames Mr. Rice.

Just so those who read this can see my pink mower that ForeverNu turned bright red, here is a picture of the mower we did, after we had pressure washed it. (It never had wax on it and we didn't care if it was perfect, Mr. car detailing "expert".) Not bad for 16 years in the Tennessee sun!

I noticed I had another new rebuttal today! This one is from a "consumer" with a graphite gray 2007 Lexus ES350 who claims "her" vehicle was made like new by forevernu! Its funny, because I actually recalled seeing a 2007 Gray Lexus very recently, in fact just the other day on an online video! Thats right folks, on Vivilons own production.

Follow this video here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWqF4YJeFTA&feature=youtu.be

You will notice he is applying the product to a 9 year old (that would make it a 2007) Lexus in Graphite gray. I attached a photo that confirms it as an ES350.

What a coincidence!!!

Ironically "she" was able to make a lawn mower look new with out even prepping it, which according to Bill, isn’t possible. Go figure.

Also, if you are actually "picky" about your car, why on earth would you take it to a dealership to be detailed? Yikes.

See the "consumer" rebuttle below.

I had a 2007 Lexus ES350 with not only swirl marks but lots of small chips on both the trunk and the hood.  Being a Graphite Gray this was very noticable.  After researching the internet I found the Vivilon Product and my spouse and I spoke with Mr. Rice several times as this car was our main mode of transportation.  The first area we tried was the trunk to make sure it would turn out as promised..IT was Beautiful  Looked brand new!  We were very reluctant to do the hood because the hood on a Lexus is very large and to be very honest we always previously hired our washing and waxing done at the dealership because my spouse is so picky!.  So we cleared out our garage so there would be no reason to open the door and have dust fly in. Bought a really bright light so we could see what we were doing and followed the directions EXACTLY as Mr. Rice directed.  As my spouse is very OCD and prints every thing out he about drove me crazy making sure it was done correctly.. when we first applied it..it didnt look so good but as it started self leveling we were amazed.  The next morning it looked like a brand new car... We used so little of the product we thought we would try it on our pink lawn mower that was 16yrs old and we didnt even prep it just pressure washed and applied ..it turned out wonderful..once again it was TORO RED!  Thank you for your wonderful Product..we still have more in that little can!

I did accidently leave negative comments on the Canadian distributors page. I wasnt using a fake profile, just a profile with my full first name and last inital. The same one I used to leave photos of my results on the Vivilon page (which were all deleted).

Vern has been much more helpful than Bill in working with the product, and I agreed to give it another shot to try and update this report. Of course, this will benefit me in no way as I would never work again with a company that threatens its customer with lawsuits after they have a negative experience with their product, but in the interest of fairness I have been playing with it some more.

The issues are not resolved. Vern requested that I video tape the entire process with HD photos before, during and after. I do plan to do this, but obviusly have no reason to make that a high priority. So far my results still stand for the moment.

Thanks Vern

Im glad you had great results with his product! Thats what I was hoping for! The majority of body shops and detailers put out poor work, so I can understand dealing with customers that dont follow directions. I have trained people for my company and always tell them to follow my way of doing things first before trying to modify the process or do things their way. I follow this same method with other peoples products. Thats the thing, I followed Bills directions and had bad results. To say Im trying to scam him makes no sense. I didnt use the product and try and get my money back, I wanted to return nearly all of it, and he refused. If Im following his directions, and its not working, how am I the problem? Your reply sounds eerily similar to Bills.

Assistance Offered

AUTHOR: Vern - (Canada)

POSTED: Thursday, April 14, 2016

I work for the Canadian Vivilon Distributor and became aware of this dispute when negative comments were being left on our Facebook page using a fake profile. After some investigation I traced these remarks back to the complainant.

We make every effort to provide a high level of customer support and felt these comments were unjustified as we had never done any business with the complainant. We have distributed the product in question for a number of years and found it performs well.

I contacted the complainant on or about April 5, 2016 and he agreed to remove the comments and apologized for putting them up on our facebook page. I offered to provide assistance in resolving his issues with the product in question.

On April 6th Eric responded and accepted my offer to help. I asked him to forward me some photos to see if I could pinpoint the problem.

April  7th Eric sent the photos which I reviewed and offered a couple possible causes to the problem. I then suggested that if that did not resolve the problem he should video the whole process so I could try and pinpoint what may be wrong.

I have not received a response since, so his issues may or may not be resolved. I will provide updates should new information become available.

Excellent easy to use product

AUTHOR: Kerri M - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 05, 2016

I am a woman who knows how to wash a car and follow instructions.   I wanted to make my husband's 2001 Porsche look as close to new as possible as a present for his birthday.. So I called Vivilon Coatings and talked with a very nice man named Bill Rice who said he had started the company 37 years ago. I told him what I was trying to do and asked him if he had a product that I could apply that would do what I wanted.

He said yes, his ForeverNu product would do a restoration on the car and even would take out most light scratch marks or most swirl marks. He said most not ALL. I bought a quart from him for $295 and got the shipping free. He told me that if I wanted to have a good result I had to follow the directions on his website exactly. He told me to take a small section (he recommended the trunk) and first do the cleaning, then the preparation (scrubbing it with a Sherman Williams product called USP90) and make sure the water sheeted off not beaded up as that would indicate there was still some wax or silicone or other contamination on the trunk that needed another scrubbing. He then said since the car was 14 years old (back in November 2015) I might want to do what he called a clay bar cleaning. I said I didn't know what clay bar was. He said go to Walmart and get a kit from Mothers and, once again, read the directions. So with a sponge to wash the car and scrub it with the USP 90,  which I had a problem finding (so I called Mr. Rice again said I was sorry for being such a problem, to which he replied, no problem...it's my job to help you do it right). get the USP 90 at a Sherwin-Williams Auto Paint store not a house paint store). I had my clay bar kit from Walmart's, and the product which came 3 days after I had ordered it with three nice application cloths included, so I was ready to get started.

I was a little nervous but I just followed directions and it went on easy and when it dried about a half hour later, WOW I was amazed. I called Mr. Rice back and he told me that it was great I was pleased but he knew I would be. I asked why, he said for two reasons : 1. you had no previous experience to give you false belief in your ability to do it your way; and, you sounded like you would follow the instructions to he letter. I asked what he meant by false belief in my ability. He told me that almost all of the people who were not happy were those in detail or body shops who felt there was no necessity for them to follow the directions, that they knew how to do any coating in their own way.

This man should be ashamed of himself for calling the product a scam and a rip off. He obviously didn't follow the directions! It sounds a bit like he is trying to scam Mr. Rice, who was always a professional, understanding, patient gentleman with me.

Sincerely,

Kerri

Vivilon threatens lawsuit for Ripoff Report.

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Sunday, April 03, 2016

I recieved this email from Bill today. He is threatening to bankrupt me with legal costs, even if he loses in revenge for my negative reviews. Since everything I have written is factual I wont lie by retracting them. I also wont claim that I  have no negative feelings towards him and his company as he asks me to state.

Eric,

I have received letters and email communications from My distributors in Canada and Australia about you and your phony Eric Li address. They want to see you punished even more than I do and they have never done business with you. You have become far more than an annoyance. You have taken matters, by your words, to become an object of wrath in 3 countries. They want what I want. For you to stop this vitriol and erase it from the public record.

You may want to excuse your "intemperance" to your being mad at not getting the same results as more than a thousand others have; BUT, the law will take a different view. I have two people begging Me to totally crush you. And, I WILL!

Unless,

you swallow your pride and ego, act like common sense dictates and do the following steps to partially make amends for the harm that you have done them and Myself:

1. Immediately post another reply to the ripoff report website saying you were mistaken and spoke out of anger not fact. And, then ask them to instantly remove the negative report you have posted there.

2. Give Me an HONEST list of all the detailers forums you have posted your scurrilous remarks to and post a new remark that says much the same as the request to ripoff report...that you were wrong to speak/write the words which were incorrect as they were done in anger; and, ask that no one should take them as truth. All negative feeling toward our company or Myself has been resolved.

3. Remove your complaint to the BBB saying it has been resolved and send Me a copy.

4. Write all the customers of ours that you spread your hate to about us apologizing for taking their time with remarks that were spoken in anger and send Me copies of those emails.

5. Write to all your friends that you wrote negative comments to and send a correction to your comments and send Me their names and email addresses.

6. Take down from ANY site ANY videos that have anything to do with us or our products.

Do ALL those things completely, don't ever post them again or speak slander to anyone in the future; and, I will refrain and convince My distributors to refrain from the legal action that is definitely warranted against you. BUT,

FAIL to retract your statements filled with unwarranted, false and malicious intent and it won't cost Me dime one to file a lawsuit against you for a minimum of $250,000 plus costs and punitive damages as the jury deems fit and proper. Taking your libel to other countries and to companies that had NO dealings of any kind with you increases damages exponentially. Even if I don't win, you LOSE! Your costs to defend could easily, even without appeals, exceed a quarter of a million dollars. I don't think you have those kind of resources. If you don't, I will win a default judgment against you.

The totally innocent distributors you have harmed will gladly pay filing fees, costs of a court reporter to take your deposition (while your attorney keeps clicking along at $300 an hour for as long as I may take Plus his travel expenses) Plus any and all expert witness costs. Say bye-bye to any thought of home ownership now or in the future. Your credit will be garbage and you will have the most aggressive collection attorney I can find pursue you for as long as it takes, to recover anything you may have now or have in the future. Costs of collection, including deposition costs would increase recovery. You may get lucky and win the lottery at some point. But, you won't win, I will!

This all started out with less than $300 at stake. Your deliberate and wrongful libel and possibly slander are actionable torts will end up costing you everything you have, IF you do not recant FULLY and completely.

This offer of settlement is good until 12 noon tomorrow the 4th of April. It may just be a life changing decision for you. I hope you have the maturity and common sense to make the right choice. Every minute you delay in removing the libel will add to the recoverable damages.

GOVERN YOURSELF ACCORDINGLY!
