I wished to God that I had known about ripoffreport.com before I switched. I would have saved myself alot of pain and suffering. February 2, 2006 I transferred one of my business lines to Vonage. (It became active with Vonage on 2/2/06). On February 6, 2006 I transferred the other business line. First line was having problems. Dropped calls all the time. Every morning I had to reset cable modem, router and PC. When 2nd line became live with Vonage same thing was happening. Called Vonage ALL THE TIME. Never did I get a normal english speaking person. Everyone I spoke to had strong foreign accents that you could barely understand.

Finally after getting no where I called SBC back and said I want to come back. This was on 2/13/06. They said no problem we will file the transfer request with Vonage. I asked do I need to notify Vonage of this? SBC said no. Just as Vonage did to SBC, SBC is doing the same thing. The transfer request does the notifying that you are switching service. SBC then told me it would take at least 15 business days for the transfer to be complete. So on 2/28/06 I will then be activated back to SBC.

So in the meantime, I'm still calling Vonage trying to keep my phone lines working so I can do business. They had me doing tests over and over again. No success. Vonage then stated you need to call your internet provider. Something is not working with your cable. I called my cable broadband provider. They said no everything is working fine. I disconnected router and plugged directly into cable and Internet worked perfect. Reconnected router work for 30 seconds then down again. I called back Vonage. On hold for several hours going through non english speaking "tech support" people and told them that my internet provider says the router is dead please send new one. VONAGE REFUSED! Saying nothing is wrong with their equipment. YET when they kept having me ping the router it would time out. This went on for 8 hours!! This was on 2/24/06, 4 days before I'm activated back with SBC. I finally said to them that they are killing my business. How can I operate without phones? I told them SBC has filed a transfer with you on 2/13 notifying you that I'm canceling my service with Vonage. "Habeb" then chose to hang up on me.

Now I'm happy back with SBC business is running normal again. NOW I have 2 emails from Vonage stating that they successfully charged my credit card. I called Vonage and asked why are you charging my credit card. I no longer have service with you. They then stated "We did not know this". That is a lie! Then they said ok. We will send you a email confirming your cancelation with us. Nothing was said that they were refunded that charge. Now I have the 2nd email telling me that they charged my credit card AGAIN for almost $200 for early termination! What the heck is that? I was told that I can cancel within 30 days without any questions being asked. Correct me if I'm wrong 2/2/06 thru 2/28/06 is well within 30 days.

PLEASE ANYONE OUT THERE DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT SWITCH TO VONAGE. This has been the biggest nightmare of my life. Anyone else notice that there commercials are no longer running??
