Here we go again with Fords , I have a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis and without any warning the intake craked. Its pretty bad I was on my way to my dads funeral when it went out and of course Ford wont do anything!!

I have called Two different dealers one being where I got my car Wagner Lincoln Mercury in Fostoria, Ohio and they wanted 800 and some dollars to fix it and the other wants 690 to fix it. You would think if Ford knows about this they would have a recall on it. But of course they wont do anything either when I called them, they said there was no recall on it and I would have to fix it myself.

I have only had this car for a year, it was a good car for me until this happens and now Ford wont do anything, BUNCH OF CRAP!!!! So I know where the rest of you are coming from they are recalling the ones they think everyone will keep buying, Well guess what I will never buy another Ford again and Hope everyone else quits buying Fords too, They should read some of the report on Fords and they will think twice about buying one!!!

Gina could you use these below contacts? Send them all a direct link to your Rip-off Report. Make no mistake, your local dealer would not give you this inside contact info.

Maybe you will get lucky and one of these people will help you with your plastic intake troubles.

I would like to know why NONE of the above Ford employees names, email or phone numbers are NOT on Ford's web site. Is it that they do NOT want to hear from consumers that are having troubles?

Maybe one will respond and explain to us all why they can't be found @ Ford's web site.

I truly hope one of the above Ford employees will help you.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

What research have you done?

AUTHOR: Alan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 19, 2003
Did you research the vehicle before your purchased it? You owned the vehicle for 1 year before the problem manifest itself. Even if they did check the car over from top to bottom, do you expect them to identify and correct a problem that wont happen for 1 year? Did you have the manifold inspected while you owned it prior to it's failure?

As for Ford recalling the 7+ year old vehicle. Perhaps you should do some research and convince the NHTSA how the intake manifold is unsafe.

Best regards,

#2 REBUTTAL Individual responds

Yeh whatever ..you need to search the web for some research

It is Fords fault because it is a manufactured screw up, Whoever came up with a plastic intake was pretty stupid. What do you know everything about this car if you think you do you need to search the web for some research on this type of car!!! Yeh it was used but so what they should have checked the car over from top to bottom, and they should have fixed the problem then, Ford knows about the problem but wont do anything. So what if I wont buy these cars anymore thats my choice and if anyone asks me about any type of vehicle I wont recomened a Ford thats for sure. Yes, we do have a second vehicle and you have no heart what so ever , you need to stay away these sites if you dont know what you are talking about!!! I will get this problem fixed!!!! Unless you are the Ford employee who screwed this up and are going to fix it, you need to shut up!!!

How is it Ford's fault?

AUTHOR: Alan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 18, 2003
You did not say in your report how it is Ford's fault you have a cracked intake.

You have a car that is 7+ years old. You also purchased the car used. You don't know what has happend to the car in the last 7 years.

If you wont buy a certain make of car becuase something on it fails, I hope you have adequate public transportation in Tiffin, Ohio.
