Waring Pro Ice Crusher IO70 Fails in Less Than 4 Months Nationwide

I purchased the expensive [$80.00] Waring Pro IO70 Ice Crusher in early June of 2014. It began jamming in August and stopped working altogether by mid-September.  There is a one year warranty, but it requires that I pack and ship the machine through a professional shipping company at my own expense, plus pay for return shipping.  This comes to approximaely $30.00

I sent an e-mail to Waring Pro protesting this added expense, but got no response.  I sent a second, more strongly worded e-mail, after which "Karen" agreed to pay for the shipping and said she would arrange to have UPS pick it up.  After I went to considerable trouble to wrap and pack the Waring Pro IO70 Ice Crusher professionally, I never heard from them again.

$30 for "free" repairs on an appliance that only lasted a little over 3 months is outrageous, especially when it would probably only last a few more months after such repairs. I grew up in the 1950's when the Waring Blender was considered a luxury item, and Waring was a name you could trust.  I will most certainly not purchase another Waring product.  The Waring Pro IO70 is a worthless piece of junk.
