The Wits End Guest Ranch in Vallecito, Colorado is the site of the most horrible family vacation we've ever been on. This place is a joke. If you're looking for a good dude ranch vacation, you will not find it at Wits End.

First of all, the moment we arrived we all just kinda looked around going "This is not at all how the website made it seem" Accomodations were comparable to army barracks. The food was horrible and usually tasted like it got heated up in a microwave. The "owners and hosts" were non existent, and had left the place in the hands of their incompetent son and given him the ridiculously undeserved title of "general manager." I do believe "clueless clown" would've have been far more appropriate. Also, the whole week we were there we heard rumors from other guests that this guy was a registered sex offender. But the worst part of all was towards the end of our stay when we tried to go out on a family horse ride. This is supposed to be included in the price mind you. We went down to the barn only to be told that there were not enough horses to accomodate all of us. The barn manager was extremely sympathetic but went on to tell us that management was not willing to reimburse us. She eventually took control and leased us some horses from another stable. When the general manager (aka clueless clown) found out about this he stormed down to the barn and threw a temper tantrum that put my spoiled 3 year old daughter to shame. He went on to verbally assault this lady in front of staff and guests alike. I have never seen unprofessionalism of this magnitude ever in my life.

Like I said, this was by far the worst vacation ever and one of the few times in my life that I felt ripped off. The only good thing about this place was the seasonal staff. Even under these horrible conditions, they always kept a good attitude and smiles on their faces. This place has a lot of potential but it is being ran into the ground by a bunch of blockheads that think they know how to run a business.
