Word of Mouth Lawn Care Rogers Lawn Care Took my money and never came back Bradenton, Florida

On August 6th, I found Word of Mouth Lawn Care's advertisement on Craigslist.  I contacted them via the number that was on the listing and my call was returned by Pamela within the hour.  We ageed on meeting at my house the nest morning for a quote which came to the amount of $75.00 for weekly lawn service (mowing, weed wacking, edging, blowing) in the warmer months and $55 for bi-weekly services in the cooler months.  Pamela told me that they would come every Tuesday, unless weather was not permitting, in which case they would come on Wednesday.  I let them mow my yard that day and gave them a check for $75.00 before they completed the job. 

The following week Tuesday (August 14th) and Wednesday (August 15th) came and went and my lawn was not cut.  It did not rain where I live on either day.  Thursday morning I called to find out what the status of my lawn was.  Pamela told me that some additional accounts were picked up near my area and that they were changing my day of week.  I was told that they would come out that day and then my lawn would be cut on Wednesdays going forward.  They did not show up that day.  It rained lightly in the morning before I called but the rest of the day was sunny. 

Friday morning (August 17th) I called again and left a voicemail.  I received a text message back with an apology, an excuse about the ground being wet and another promise to come out that day.  Again, no rain and no lawn service.  The following Wednesday (August 22nd) came and went with no rain and no service.  In addition, they changed their number and I had to look it up in a more recent ad on Craigslist to contact her.  She told me that she forgot, again promised me service the next morning and would give me a couple extra free weeks for the hassle. 

Again Thursday, August 23rd came and went without service and no rain.  I called at 6:00pm and left a voicemail explaining that I believe that they have no intention of returning and that I was therefore "firing" them as my lawn service providers.  I had also stated that I would give her 24 hours to contact me back to tell me when I can expect a full refund of my money or I would go take my complaint to the Better Business Bureau and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.  Unsurprisingly, I did not receive a call back. 

After filing my complains with both, I waited several weeks from both organizations had received the following responses informing me that they "have not received a response from the company" (BBB 10/2/12) or that "the business has refused to cooperate" (FDOACS 10/4).  At this point, I have little faith that I will ever recover any of the money that I've paid, but I hope that I can save someone else the aggrivation that I went through dealing with Word of Mouth Lawn Care. 

As noted above, they seem to change their phone numbers frequently.  Numbers that I have been given or found online are 941-524-7324, 941-840-2371, 941-201-2146.
