I recently bought a 2004 Jaguar Vanden plas from Wright Auto Exchange. Within days of having the car it started showing an air suspension fault. I took it back up there to have it looked at. The owner drove it down the street and came back and said the car was ok. Then asked me If I wanted to buy another Jaguar.

He had a man there that I believe to be his mechanic. He told me that Jags will have that problem in the winter, but once it heats back up it will go away. I decided to go get another opinion. Turns out it was a big deal. The mechanic I took it to at NTB told me its gonna cost 5 and half thousand dollars to get fixed. I paid 13 grand in full for the car, and it came with that kind of problem.

Please everyone familiar with this place, do not go there. He claims he will fix it and bring it back and he will take care of it, but all he wants to do is take your money. It is without a doubt the worst customer service I have experienced in my life. There is no reason you paid 13 grand for a car and days after have to replace the suspension.

Buyer Beware

AUTHOR: That Guy - ()

In all fairness to the dealer, a 2004 XJ8 Vanden Plas is a $70,000 vehicle.  Yes, it has lots of miles and is used now, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a $70,000 vehicle.  You bought a $70,000 vehicle for $13,000.

Why did you buy it for so cheap, because it is used and is not going to be new or even like new.  If everything worked and the vehicle was like new, then the price of it would reflect that.  I'm sure the vehicle was marked 'as is'.  As simple as it sounds, that's what it means.  You are buying the vehicle 'as is' and the dealer has no obligation to you.

I know you don't want to hear it, but this is a costly lesson.  If you want to own a $70,000 dollar car, then you have to be able to afford to repair it.

Actually Jaguar has a documented history of unreliable, problematic cars...

It's not surprising, this nine year old one has some problems.

Sometimes standard suspension conversion kits are available to replace the air suspension.

You might look into that...good luck.
