Advice from another victim

AUTHOR: adviceguy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, April 21, 2012

I too am a victim of this attempt at extortion and talked with an attorney and police today.

Since they are posting pictures and their business model is to make money by people paying to remove them, they are targeting individuals who have pictures on their website, and most likely the only person that would pay to have their picture removed is the person who would be embarrassed by their picture of the mugshot.

They are additionally paying money to have their website as high as possible on search engines another factor to embarrass people you have their pictures posted.

This might, I repeat might and might not be considered extortion depending on where you live.

The suggestion I received was to call them at 661 310 2107 and ask them to remove your picture before you contact the Attorney General of the State of California where they are located, the Attorney General of Florida, and the Attorney General of the State you live in as well as the Attorney General of the United States and risk management of Visa, and Google and file a complaint with each.

Additionally I believe many of these picture are available if you log into the clerk of courts at the country level, they are posting multiple counties, using the same picture, further damaging persons reputation implying they might of been arrested in multiple countries, however individuals must provide their identify to view pictures unless they have been convicted of sexual or violent offenses.
I also believe images of indivduals more than 6 years old are purged from the system and only available to official police organization and require written request from others.

Additional damage is done to individuals because they post mugshots, even if mugshots is all they have and no charges have been filed.

Todate, as of 4/21 they have made, after doing an amatuer search only about $5000, started in August of 2011 and their website will expire in August of 2012 unless they renew.

I called them today after talking with an attorney and am trying to just remove my picture and if they return my call will ask them, please remove my picture immediately unless they are willing to take the chance that they are willing to take the chance that the Governments of the USA, Florida, California or the state I live in think they are indeed violating the law and guilty of the crime of extortion, or some other crime based on how they use their information.

Extortion, already talked with attornies

AUTHOR: adviceguy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, April 21, 2012

This definately looks like an extortion attempt, the fact being they want money to remove the photo and the only person who would have a vested interest in paying money to remove the photo is the person that the photographed.  Hence it is a site that post photos of people in an attempt to extort money from the person whose photo is posted, and they are paying extra money to search engines to have their website as high on the list of results as possible.

It appears they are operating numerous sites with this extortion attempt at other counties in Florida implying that people have been arrested numerous times.

The company can be contacted at 661 310 2107, I suggest you call and tell them before you seek legal reprensentation to file extortion charges that they remove your photo immediately, or you will contact the attorney general of the state of California, where they are located, the State of Florida, the State you live in, and the Attorney General of the United States as well as Visa, their charge card processor, and Google since they are permitted illegal activity.  Additionally, although this information is available thru the Volusia County Clerk of Courts, each individual that views it is required to sign in with their name, and this site violates that policy unless they have registered with the Volusia clerk of courts.

My picture is posted, from 2004, and I believe many records over 6 years old require written request to view photos unless it is part of an active investigation.

***note this site just recently popped up in August of 2011 and expires in August of 2012 and as of information I researched today, it appears they have only made about $5000 4/21/2012, which means they have gotten a few suckers to pay the money which might, might I repeat be considered extortion in some areas of the country,

Stolen?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

How exactly did they steal your mugshot?

It looks like you better be totally honest on any of your applications that ask if you have ever been arrested/convicted of a crime before.
