In April,'08 my wife and I were reluctant to sign a contract with Wyndham worth over $11,000, because we had already invested considerably in timeshares. Then the salesperson told us that we could use the 154,000 points we would receive for airtravel on ANY airline. Additionally, in "consolidating" our other timeshares with Wyndham, we would find that our maintenance fees would be much lower than they currently were.

On hearing this we signed the contract. We have subsequently found this information to be false. In regard to the maintenance fees, they have turned out to be many times higher than what we have been paying before the properties were "consolidated"

We wished to terminate this contract with Wyndham, but we were told that the company has a non-cancellation policy; that we would have to sell it like real-estate ourselves. However the contract plainly states that we may terminate it at any time. Go figure?

The contract also states that "conversion fees" would be waived as we were not notified that our property had passed from Fairfield to Wyndham. We were charged these fees anyway.

"Read the contract carefully before you sign!"We did.It is what has transpired AFTER the signing--many weeks after, that is entirely unacceptable . We are by no means "truly valued " as is stated on all correspondence from the Wyndham offices, in fact we have been thoroughly scammed.

We have submitted a similar report to the BBB that services companies in the Orlando area but as yet, have received no reply from them concerning our contracts with Wyndham.

We would greatly appreciate any action taken to resolve our dispute with Wyndham Vacation Resorts.

Wyndham Vacation Resorts

AUTHOR: Bear - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 08, 2009

We have been satisfactorily compensated by Wyndham Vacation Resorts with a full refund of the purchase price of the timeshare at Bali-Hai Resort in Kauai.

We wish to thank the resort's Consumer Affairs Department, and in particular the Lead Specialist Elaine Havock for her entirely professional and friendly assistance in helping to conclude our business with Wyndham Resorts.
