Stay away from (((REDACTED))), Redondo Beach, CA (((REDACTED)))!!!!!

The owner, Yvonne Johnson, and her boyfriend/husband/maintenance man Art are not to be rented from, trusted, or chosen to be your landlords.  We lived at the property for one year only under the premise that the property would be fixed, repaired, and ongoing maintenance would happen as needed.  IT WASN'T.

Upon inquiring about the unit, you will receive the con scam of "I'm looking for someone to buy the property" (it is a four-plex in Redondo Beach..lucrative opportunity).  You will receive the con scam of "I'm old"..."I can't see".."I'm tired".."I just want quiet tenants that will not call me or cause problems".  She seems like a very nice, elderly lady at the beginning however it is a con.

She wants all of her money.  She will overcharge for her units. She can see.  She is not planning on selling the property.  When you have an issue with the unit, she will say her blood pressure is rising and she cannot see and act like she needs to go lay down.  It is a fraud.  

The unit has bad plumbing that is stopped up and needs to be replaced. She refused to fix it.  The roof and property has significant termite damage in the core four units and the garages.  The roof has serious mold and is a health hazard.  She will only fix minor items such as paint or small wood projects, however other items will not be replaced or corrected.  She will acknowledge the issues, have unlicensed maintenance men work on the property, get nothing fixed, and not make concessions on the rent for items that have broken.

The most egregious issue is that Yvonne and Art will claim that you did not pay rent, but you will have check stubs and additional verification from them.  They will refuse to see it, but claim that you did not pay.  Art does the dirty work and is the bad cop. Yvonne acts like the good cop.  They are schemers and I advise you to stay away and find another property elsewhere.  It was a tenure from hell.
