I'll keep this short and sweet.
Charge.com sold me on a $29.95 processing program.
Then it was $49.95 because of a $20 gateway fee that they slipped in at the end.
Then my bill went up another $30 for a 'compliance' fee although my business was compliant.
In addition, I got billed from AMEX because there is an additional fee from them (which wasn't discussed until AFTER I signed witch Charge.com.)

Finally, their representative said there were no contracts and I specifically asked if there was a cancellation fee. I was told NO and NO.

I also signed up for there e-check solution to accept checks by phone. When a client tried to pay by check it was declined. I found out that it was because you cannot accept business checks by phone. Charge.com knew I was a business selling to businesses but sold me this product anyway.

When I canceled they said I would have a $300 fee. I said that they told me there were no fees.

The VP, Randy Rochleau raised his voice and said in a very angry tone, "You were told, it's in the paperwork, you knew about it!" When I told him that wasn't true and that I wouldn't be willing to pay it he responded. "We'll send you a bill and if you don't pay it we'll send you to collections."

I told them that they were not authorized to charge my card anything and that they could send me a bill but I would fight it. Needless to say - they charged my card anyway and I am dealing with my bank to dispute it.

I would recommend that anyone considering charge.com run like crazy. Pay the extra money and use something with a good reputation like PayPal. I now use them and never have a concern.

Charge.com, SecurePay.com have terrible customer service, they are deceptive and they are criminal in their business practices.
