I was laid off work fo a month now. Everyday I searched and posted my resumes to different hiring departments and employment ads but my luck is not on my side. I happened to read the JOB GIANT magazine (October 29-November 11 issue) and spotted the ad called, " HELP WANTED Restaurant/Hotel Club...Bartender openings. Earn $150 to $250/day. Cash tips. No experience required. Training provided.Full time or part time. Call 1-877-5194)". And because I have a previous bartending experience, I called this number. When I talked to the representative, he told me that I have to pay $89.00 for the packet that they will send plus processing fees. I asked him why do I need to pay for this amount but the guy said that includes the packet and the training that they provide plus certification that is valid for lifetime , anywhere in the States. Since I was desperate to get the certification and the training I went on. But the first thing this person asked was the security code at the back of my card. I asked him why do he need my security code right away he never even know my account number and he goes, that's what the company need first before getting the card number. Things started to confused me? I asked him so many questions but he was able to convinced me anyways. So I gave him my card number and the security code at the back of my card. But at the end of the day,  I had a weird feeling about this company and so I went on to check if they have a website and to check on their real identities.I found out that they do not have any email address. So I called again, the same person answered the phone and I told him what I discovered, and the rip off portion that I read and so on. He goes, go to one of our website. It's called barjobfinder.com and see that we have a lot of testimonials posted on our company. So I went on this site and checked. When I called and a guy answered the phone, he answered the phone by saying, "United States Bartender association"! I asked him, why is it that he is saying USBA when I'm supposed to be answered by barjobfinder.com? He said, No, this is United States Bartender Association. I firmly said, I am calling the barjobfinder.com's number? I asked him again, "Are you guys interconnected or somewhat related? The guys seems confused in his answers and he kept telling me that I am calling USBA. I said No! I am calling the barjobfinder.com. So, I asked him the same question, "are you guys connected with USBA"? But instead of answering me direct he hung the phone on me and the "click" on the other side made me think, hmmm, I smelled something "fishy" here. Feeling disatisfied, I called my Bank to stopped the payment and the customer service advised me to closed my account instead and just made a note that I have an impending claim against this company. This is another lesson I learned in my job search. The transaction would have been perfected had this company hired a "better" customer service/account executives/ salesmen. They got me already into entering a transaction but because they hired a "not so perfect saleman", things didn't succeed in their effort of extracting another hard earned dollars coming from me. Thank you for that, salesman"! You made a reason for me to doubt your company.
