I started a Cspire contract in April 2013. When I went into the store in Clinton, MS, I had three things specifically on my mind. Could I get the new iPhone 5? Is the service suitable for using all the features of the iPhone 5? And most importantly, I was moving to Birmingham, Al later that year, so would I have the same level of service in Birmingham as I would in Clinton.
The man who served me looked me right in the eye and flat out lied to me. His exact words escape me, but he went on for a minute about how they don't have any privately owned towers near that area, but that they bounced the signal off of other phone company towers and so on and so forth. When I once again asked him to state yes or no would I have the same level of cellular service in Birmingham as I would in Clinton, he said flat out "Yes. It will be the same."
He lied. When I moved to Birmingham, I found that there was no 4G/LTE service, let alone 3G service. Cellular calling signal levels were at best two bars, and my calls ALWAYS dropped. I moved in August, and contacted them later in August about it. They said that I could cancel my contract if I provided proof of residence in Birmingham, Al.
When I got around to finally putting together all the information they requested, I called them back - it was almost the end of August. They said that, on top of proving that I was a resident in Birmingham, Al, I also had to return the device - the iPhone 5. Now, when I started the contract I had to pay $199 to get the phone. I understand that was a sales price that went along with the contract. But they refused to refund that money spent on the phone. Likewise, they said I'd have to pay $300 for the cancellation fee if I did not return the phone. On top of that, they wouldn't even cover the shipping. So, despite their falsehoods, they still charge their customers for canceling the contract, or make $199 off a phone that they're just going to sell as refurbished.
As if that wasn't bad enough, today I find out that because at the beginning of August I was still in Clinton and still capable of using their services, and since I sent some messages and made some phone calls, I am still being charged for the entire month of August, even though i had the service for much less than half of the month. So, I'm losing $199 on top of having to pay $89 for the service I did not have, on top of the shipping for the iPhone. Essentially, I've still paid the $300 cancellation fee.
Do not start a contract with Cspire. Do not trust them. Do not let them rip you off like they ripped me off.

You said the salesman lied but can't remember exactly what he said. Did you bother to read the contract you were signing for the iphone? Sounds like you didn't because if you did, the contract covers all of that. Chalk this up to a lesson learned wanting the latest fashion phone.
