Fabtech LLC / Aron Lewis provided us an estimate for audio products and installation services and also quoted us the price of a TV.  We paid him a deposit totaling half of the estimated work and half of the TV.  He never finished the work, and we never got the TV or other components we paid him for.  We have contacted him on several occassion to try to get him to finish the work or give us a refund, but those requests have been ignored.   He owes us $1428 on that job, plus we had to hire someone else to finish and fix his work, which cost us almost as much as we have already paid him.  He is very unreliable and non-responsive, took my money, and is not professional in his work.  Do not hire this man or company or give him any of your hard earned money!!!

Aron Lewis = Scam artist

AUTHOR: Brett - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, January 09, 2016

I was also scammed by Aron Lewis. He was referred to me from someone who knew him and thus I trusted him. Big mistake, he took my deposit and kept saying he would do the job, next week, or the following week and I would have to struggle to get ahold of him time and time again because he would keep dodging contact. 6 months later I finally had enough of it and asked for a refund, he claimed i'd have to wait 90 business days for refund, so I waited, and waited, 90 business days go by and he still continues to dodge my calls and texts and emails. He sends me some ridiculous release agreement, which I adjust and send back to him, and he refuses to sign that and now he continues to dodge my calls yet again. It has been 11 months since i gave him a deposit in the amount of $2500. I hope he gets what is coming to him soon.

Just to be clear. . .

The invoice/estimate says NOWHERE on it anything about a universal remote control, you were never billed/charged for one EVER. . . Next, the in-ceiling speakers that you speak of that were in the estimate where the ones that we changed throughout the interior of your home that have been installed and working ever since. Furthermore, the estimate clearly shows that the speakers for outdoor where 2 pairs of polk all weather speakers, the day we came to wire them and install them you had us install your previously purchased Bose Audio speakers in their place and asked us to wire for in ceiling speakers, and instead of two pairs it was a total of 6 speakers (3 pairs) of Polk Audio in ceiling speakers which were NEVER in the initial estimate for the pre-wire or purchase of the speakers we just agreed that we would take care of it at a later date. So the additional cost for the speakers that you changed your mind on was never billed, the addition in wiring was never billed. And the labor was labeled at $500 for the outdoor spekaers, television, and cable box which the speakers were wired (just not installed) the television is completed and so is the cable box. I understand your math but you are not taking into account the last minute changes that you made that were not on the estimate, come on Lisa lets be fair here. I went to your home on thanksgiving day to show you how to use your second zone so you could entertain, I go pretty far for my customers!

Finally if another company came and installed those in ceiling speakers easily, they had to cut your supporting beams in half inorder to do so, it is a physical IMPOSSIBILITY to do so otherwise you cannot put something with a 2-3" depth in a hole that only has a 1/2" available depth because wood is blocking the opening unless you cut the wood, and if that is the case it is unstable at best. As far as the overpayment is concerned I will gladly look through my invoices and re-pay it no questions asked as I am not trying to take somone elses hard earned money. Buy if there was no changes then your math would be correct (not including the overpayment as I am not sure of it) but there are factors you simply arent including. To conclude that the install could not be safely done on the final day, I am sure you remember it was the day before your large work related outdoor party, we went to install the speakers, discovered the contractors mistake and we had to get him out there to re plaster the ceiling before night fall so the next day your guests wouldn't see a hole in the ceiling with a wood beam running through it. I agree that the job was near paid in full plus the changes you asked for and then minusing the speakers themnselves and the labor for just those speakers leaves me owing you a few dollars as I previously stated I completely agree that I owe you $400 but I have to contest and say the ONLY reason the $400 is owed is because the job could not be safely completed through no fault of our own.

Fabtech Is Trying to Re-Write History

AUTHOR: Lisa - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, February 18, 2014

FabTech's strategy is to blame its customer for its own failure to complete the job.  This is a straightforward dispute involving simple math.  FabTech's estimate for the full job was $3647.  We paid Fabtech $4400 - an overpayment of $753.  Even though we paid them several hundred dollars more than the amount quoted us, they still did not complete the work.  Specifically, they did not provide or install the ceiling speakers (shown on their written estimate as $575 - $375 for the speakers and $200 for installation) and did not provide a universal remote ($100).

The total they owe us is $1428 (overage of $753 plus $575 plus $100).  We contacted them many times over several months asking them to either come and finish or refund us the overage and gave them every possible chance to do so.  It was always some excuse, and they never did either.  The person we hired to complete the job had no problem whatsoever installing the ceiling speakers, so their attempt to try to blame our contractor is invalid.

Not accurate at all. . .

AUTHOR: FabTech LLC - ()

POSTED: Monday, February 17, 2014

We at FabTech were contracted to do work at the Perlo residence in Plantation, Fl. Under two seperate invoices, one was a deposit for a television, and the second was a deposit for multiple products and services that will be described below.

1) The television took longer then anticipated to arrive, in turn the Perlo's decided to purchase a television on thier own and to put the deposit towards the second invoice which in turn covered the second invoice in full between their two deposits (no dispute there)

2)Here is a list of what was on the second invlice that has been 100% completed to date:

3x infrared repeater kits with installation

1x 5.1 receiver for the outdoor audio system with installation

3x Pair of flush in ceiling speakers (polk audio) for the interior of the home with installation

1x Full motion mount for outdoor television

1x Move all bedroom components (cable box, receiver, wiring, infrared, etc.) to master bedroom closet

1x Move all outdoor components (cable box, receiver, infrared, etc.) to master bedroom closet

3x 50 foot HDMI cables with installation

1x Move all living room components through concrete wall, into conduit, into another concrete wall to move and hide all living room components in a neighboring closet.

1x Pre wire of all outdoor flush in ceiling speakers and external all weather speakers

1x Installation of outdoor TV

1x Moved bedroom flatscreen TV to outside with wire concealment

1x Moved living room flatscreen TV to master bedroom with wire concealment inside the wall

1x Installaed new Samsung flatscreen TV in living room with wire concealment in wall, removed old wire molding and painted wall.

1x Living room new front left, front right, center channel Polk Audio speakers mounted on wall with full wire concealment

Here is what was not completed as well as a reason why:

Outdoor flush in ceiling speakers were not installed AND THAT IS THE ONLY THING! They were not installed because after our prewire the contractor agreed to plaster the ceiling and have our wire drops in place for our installation upon his completion. Once he was done we retuned to do the final installation and upon cutting into the plaster we saw the contractor put our wire drops directly below his trusses/beams which makes it COMPLETELY imposible to do a flush in ceiling speaker installation, the contractor returned immediately to patch the ceiling as the Perlo family was having an outdoor party the next evening. We were contacted by the contractor as he wanted our assistance to fix his mess up, we told him he could fix it and we would resume work, he refused. I am not going to cut near/around/through supporting beams as I am not a general contractor and I know they are load bearing and I dont want to be held responsible. Contractor eventually said he would finish it, we never heard from them again until this report MONTHS later. I have invoices, and contracts all signed supporting my description of the events that took place. I completely admit that we did not mount the outside speakers ($200 worth of labor) and we still have the speakers ($200 wholesale price for the speakers) and I will gladly refund them the $400 as it is the ONLY unfinished part of the job. I also have messages from Lisa Perlo acknowledging that her contractor messed up and it was not our fault.
