Buyers beware.

I have never written a complaint before, but in this case I think its important. A nice young man whose name is Peter came out today to do some window tint for our Bank Branch here in the Toronto area. Specifically we ordered a Llumar Vista film to reduce the suns glare. The owner of the Business:

Thang Nguyen of HiTek advertises on his website that he uses all of the major brands and he ensures us that the window tint would match and all would be fine. He guarantied it.

Here is the problem. We did not get the Vista film we ordered. The film applied to the glass is darker and its easy to see the difference. The former Llumar film looks very good, but the tint Peter installed is darker and the tint coating is not even.

We asked Peter about this and he said that in 30 days it will clear up. We pressed Peter (who now would not give us his last name) if this was the same film as on the other windows. He said he didnt know because he didnt install on those windows. We again asked him if we were getting Vista film and he said he doesnt think so.

According to Peter, Thang Nguyen buys all his film from Taiwan China and matches up his film to the ones that he advertises on his website. Peter claims that according to Thang all films are the same and it doesnt matter. Peter said that he has been installing only tint from China since 2009 when Thang Nguyen opened up and most people never notice, so its ok.

We here at the Bank do NOT agree with Peter and we plan to seek compensation for our time and trouble and will report Mr. Thang Nguyen to the authorities for pulling a Bait and Switch. We are also banning HiTek Window Films from ever doing business with the TD Bank and we warn all who deal with HiTek that you will be cheated if you deal with them.  Perhaps in Vietnam the trick of Bait and Switch is acceptable, but here in Canada, fraud of this kind is not tolerated.

To fix the window tint job we called Apex Films and Mr. Dean Avey of Apex came out immediately and he did a great job peeling off the cheap tint and installing the real Vista Product. Thank you Mr. Avey for being professional. To contact Apex, here is their web address:  http://www.apexfilms.ca

POSTED: Tuesday, October 30, 2012

I ' m Thang Nguyen , the owner of Hi tek window film . The rip off report is totally false . We have not install any Sun - Control Product to any Bank for the last 6 months . And if we did , we would go through a General Contractor , if there is any problem we our product or work . then the General Contractor will deal with us directly . We never deal with Bank directly . As fa as product . We don't buy any film from over sea . We purchase our product , from 3M Graphic . Solar Gard , LLumar . I think , this is the case of Competition try to ruin my reputition
