I will present the facts as listed below in chronological order, so you as an educated consumer can make your decision.

1. About two weeks ago, my wife was approached at the Boca Raton Town Center Mall by these so-called "talent scouts" about the modeling potential of my 6 y.o son. They told her how he is so talented and should come in for a free evaluation. They did not hand her any business cards, just told her they will call to schedule.

2. Call, they did the next day, even though they are supposedly "crazy busy". They were so "nice" they even allowed us to setup an appointment on a Sunday. Such "nice guys"!

3. Well, the appointment was yesterday, Sunday, Sep 9th. We dressed our son nicely as per their guidelines. We arrived promptly for the appointment. we noticed there were at least about 100 other people waiting like us, waiting to be framed and conned. All had eager looks on their faces, ready to become the next face of "Gap".

4. At the front desk, they made us fill out a form with "forward looking" information. We also provided the picture of our son.

5. After waiting for a full hour, a "talent director" greeted us and escorted us into her office. her name is Lauren Ashley Taylor. Somehow, this hack thinks she is some kind of big model. She is such a big model, that she is yet to receive her first modeling assisnment....lol!

6. Lauren gave us the spiel about how our son is perfect for modeling. She struck a conversation with us, trying to connect and get us to place our trust in her. By the way, the office is bare and she did not have any business card. What a clown!

7. On and on Lauren, ("the supermodel") went about how our son was so talented and that so many companies are looking for kids like that to advertise their products. Every time I asked a specific question, her standard answer was " I will get to that in a bit".

8. Towards the end, after I told her we have to leave, she started showing us the rates for the "Comp cards". That is when I knew for sure, this is a rip-off. Scammers of the first grade! They charge you $1500 for a 2-outfit photo-shoot. When asked about bringing in my own photographer, she replied "absolutely not". The shots are not yours either, so you can not re-use them with another talent/modeling agency.

9. She asked me to pay in advance for the shoot, which I rejected right away. I said I need some time to discuss this with my wife. She responded, that since we are there, we must want our kid to get into modeling, so why the extra discussion! She is worse than a used-car salesman. Atleast, with the car dealership, you are going in with a certain expectation.

10. All of a sudden, as I strongly voiced my reluctance to leave any money, she dropped the price of the photo shoot from $1500 to a mere $595, out of the kindness of her heart...lol! Double whammy...I knew, immediately, to get out of there. What crooks!

I recommend everyone to please do your homework with this or any other modeling/talent agencies. There are several complaints about the tactics this "firm" uses to bait in un-suspecting consumers. DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP. They parade around their so-called "talent directors" in skimpy outfits, trying to exude this aura of fashion.....nothing but empty gas. Some of their "models turned staff" looked ugly. Just because you wear a mini-skirt, does not mean you suddenly become an icon of sexiness. Please do not waste your time or money with these con artists.

Creedence to original complaintant from a customer

I guess, we are in that 10% who are on the net, verifying that this is definitely something people should veer away from.  Unfortunately, I am embarrassed to admit, we fell for the spiel, with two kids.  The entire experience was overwhelming and obviously done so on purpose.  I was very confused regarding the entire scenario.  We are honest people so we counted on the "professionals" to be honest and explain everything to us, after all this was their industry.  Once all was said and done, pictures taken, contracts signed ... we left our final meeting figuring we would hear something because they touted several times 85% of their clients got jobs.  We waited and waited....I kept chalking  the wait up to it takes time for 1000's of mailings to be sent and responded to.  (At our meeting we were told that the original 500 comp cards would be gone quickly and we would need to restock, so it was more economical to do the digital comp cards.)  Not long ago, I decided we should have heard something by now because after all the cards they would have sent out, the odds were in our favor (85%) to have produced something.  On the site we pay monthly for, they have a button you can order an activity report on.  So I ordered one for each child.  Mind you, I was expecting a lengthy report on the vast connections they had made (as they informed us at our meeting.... that although they were not a talent agent, it was in their best interest to get us jobs so they would work hard to make connections for us).  They each had 7 listings of contacts.  I was sadly not shocked because the realization that this was probably a scam had already crept into the back of my head.  We have had to chalk this up to lesson learned and very, very, very expensive photos.

As a "client" of InterFace, we recommend you not doing this.  Apply the make-up and do the hair yourself or go to a salon, take your own pictures or hire a photographer, research contacts via the net...you will get much further for way less cost.

Staying anonymous for my own reasons.

InterFACE is a Premier Talent Marketing Company!

AUTHOR: GR_InterFACERep - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, September 17, 2012

Hello consumer,

My name is Godis, InterFACE Director of Communications, and I am sorry to hear that you do not do not have a positive outlook on our company, and I think it may stem from not entirely understanding our business model. I would be happy to address some of the concerns you have posted about InterFACE.

First, please do note that InterFACE is NOT, and has NEVER claimed to be a talent or modeling agency or management company. InterFACE is a TALENT MARKETING FIRM that works with aspiring models, actor, singers and dancers to help them create the marketing tools they need to be promoted to modeling and talent agencies, who can in turn, request our clients to participate in opportunities in the entertainment industry.

We do offer a FREE initial talent evaluation to learn more our services and the client's goals. If you chose not to move forward with our services, there is NO OBLIGATION to move forward (which you exercised that right). Every actor or model will obviously have to purchase marketing tools before any marketing or promotion process can begin, whether that is with InterFACE or somewhere else. InterFACE does offer several different photography and marketing packages for those who are interested in creating marketing tools that will be used to promote them to industry professionals, we also offer a cancellation policy for those who chose not to move forward with our services. However InterFACE, like any business, does attach specific fees to utilize their services, and it is unfair that you have labeled our company as a "scam" for simply charging consumers for services, which is the basis of any enterprise.

You mentioned reading negative reviews of InterFACE. Please keep in mind that over 90% of online postings about InterFACE that are negative in context are written by people who are NOT clients of
InterFACE (like yourself). Because of the nature of the entertainment business, many people make a general assumption about InterFACE before even walking into our offices! Many people have not yet had our services explained to them in full detail before they begin to write online postings.

InterFACE is in no way a scam, and we display up to the minute company news and client requests on our website (www.interfacetalent.com) and social media pages (Facebook-www.Facebook.com/InterFACENetwork) (Twitter-www.twitter.com/interfacenetwk), which we urge you to visit and review.

Our program works and I would love the opportunity to explain the framework of our company in more detail to anyone who has any concerns about our business. Please contact me at any time to
discuss InterFACE further at: gwatts@interfacenetwork.com.  We also wish your son the best of luck in his endeavors to pursue a career in the entertainment industry!
