I have used Priceline for several years and usually bought travel insurance. Last August my mother celebrated her 80th birthday and all my family wanted to get together in Puerto Rico. I have two sisters in NY for which I bought their travel tickets with travel insurance from Berkely Group.

One of them got sick and couldn't travel. After being one week sick at home, she was hospitalized for two weeks and still under treatment.

I filled a claim with Berkely Group for the cost of one ticket and it was declined because my sister was not hospitalized at the travel date, even though she was sick and hospitalized afterwards. And the doctors attest that she was disabled from travel a direct result of this sickness.

I bought the travel insurance precisely to cover my sister in case of sickness but to no avail. Berkely Group and/ Priceline did honor their obligations. They prove to be a complete rip-off and should not be patronized.
