We purchased a time share at Hacienda Tress Rios March 30 2010, from a salesman who said he used to be a lawyer in Mexico. I won't use any names yet as it is my sincere hope that they do the right thing. But that can change quickly.

It is a fantastic resort and we had every intention of using it.

Upon our return to Canada, we learned that my wife must start treatment for liver disease next week.We emailed with in the 5 day recision period in the contract that we had to cancel the contract and focus our resources on my wife's treatment.

The Sales manager who says he is a fellow Canadian then offered to give us 50% refund then let us refinance at 0% interest. He sent a new contract with our visa number and security code on it. The new contract was back dated to March 30 when we signed the origianl deal. Even though this was the 8th of April.

We seriously considered it and then emailed that we had to stick with the original cancellation, as this was just too much to bear at this time.We have continued sending emails and requesting"in writing a yes or no as to a refund.  The sales manager then called me and offered to refund the whole amount, but only if we would finance the whole amount at 6% interest.

I explained again that we could not proceed and we need to have a full refund. He said he could not do that and would have to send it to the "legal Dept."I have continued to email and phone and we are now being ignored.

What kind of organization would do such a dispicable thing to people that are already in a crisis situation? With such an incredible resort, there is no reason that we can understand that people need to be treated this way.

We have told them that when my wife has finished her 6 months of treatment and has fully recovered we had every intention of revisiting the opportunity, But that could they please have compassion and understanding of what our family is about to go through. I guess that their commissions are more important than my wife's life.

Can anyone give me the contact numbers for the two brothers who developed this beautiful resort? I believe  the names are Romarico and Orlando Arroyo Marroquin. I don't beleive they are the kind of men who would tolerate this if they were aware of the situation.

I am not asking for a free ride, but rather that these people uphold the contract they signed with us and allow us to focus on my wife's recovery.

Vaya Con Dios

It is always best to hire someone skilled to do so, unfortunately in most cases these companies dedicated to cancel timeshares usually cheat for the second time to their customers since they are vulnerable and desperate. If you are thinking of hiring them you just have to make sure you do not have to make any payment upfront ... I found these articles that speak precisely about this, you should read them, that might help you to resolve many doubts:
