I have a truck leased to them, and been noticing since the fuel prices have been going up there not paying the correct fuel surcharge there still paying .275 when fuel is averging right at 3:40 a gallon. Called about ten other companies and there all paying there drivers between .31 to .36 so Im losing about .08 a mile averages out to be about $190 to $240 a week. And I also asked some of there big customers and there paying the company .37 cpm fuel surcharge so there taking .10 cpm off the top.
Also not only are they ripping us off on the fuel surcharge there also still paying house hold movers guide miles, in turn losing about 20% to 30% on the miles, when there charging customers practical miles, I know because I seen it on the bills.
Also if you going to bring your own truck over here I would think twice about it, I have been noticing lately since freight slowed down they keep staying freight slow you should go home but you see there company trucks with loads and the lease purchase drivers rolling, but the true owner ops with there own trucks sitting.

I've worked herefor a very long time, and I think that you are mistaken, Texas Star is not ripping you off. Let me clear a few things up for you.
#1. You say that you are getting .275 cents milefuel surcharge but that is onloaded AND empty miles. Customers do not pay surcharge on empty miles and neither do most other trucking companies. Call those other 10 companies again,I bet you they pay surcharge only on loaded dispatchedmiles.
#2. Texas Starpays lease operators based on Household Mover's Guide mileage because the customer's pay TSE on HHMG miles - not practical mileage. I don't know what you have seen on bills, but you are wrong about the mileage matrix.
#3. As far as Owner Operators getting less miles than the Company and "Lease Purchase" drivers is just plain bologna.
Whenthe grass looks greener on the other side of the fence it might just mean that they use more "fertilizer" there.
