I had called the dealership earlier this morning to set up an appointment for a CLK350 that they had listed on their website for 15,995. I had spoke to Stephanie (who the receptionist put me through to her as a saleswoman) and I had asked her if the car was in stock for the listed price of 15,995(there conveniently was the same car also listed on the site for $39,449 with about 8,000 miles less), to which she replied "yes".

I was about to drive an hour away when i decided to research the dealership first. I typed into google 21st century auto group to which shortly after in the search bar the options showed "scam" "liars" "complaints" "bait and tackle" . I called up the dealership a second time to make sure that the car was in fact there, to which they kept me on hold for a decent amount of time and then said "actually no we don't have the car listed for $15,995. SORRY Stephanie, but try a little harder next time before you insist upon wasting people's time. Pathetic.

Please notice the Bait:

No waste of time

AUTHOR: AlyMcenzie - (United States of America)

I am very much familiar with the "Bait and Switch" tackle most dealerships offer. I think this especially happens in dealerships with a wide variety of cars, it happened several times to me. I have been staying with my parents in Upstate New York where I grew up, but currently reside in Fairlwan, NJ.

I went on the 21 century auto group website and found a car that really caught my interest at a fantastic price. I spoke to my dad about it and we agreed we would take the 7 hour trip and go look at the vehicle.  I was SOOOO nervous! I called and schedualed an appointment. They told me the car would be available and reserved for us to look at.

In the end this place didnt disappoint us one bit. Every question or concern I had was taken care of and addressed appropriately and quickly. I drove from upstate New York with my parents to the dealership and although very hesitant for it to be a waste of time, this dealership DID NOT disappoint us. Like most people, I had expectations as to how I wanted the car transaction to go and the sales rep met them. I had researched on the computer the type of vehicle I was looking for and this dealership had the best price, so after the long trip, my father looked at the car, and we both agreed it would be a great move to make so we purchased here. Thanks again to their great staff. We will not hesitate to do business with these men again or send someone their way!

Sent by friend: SO pleased!

AUTHOR: Never had a problem! - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, April 16, 2012

I have been looking to trade in my vehicle this summer for something nicer and less problematic. I invested so much money into the current vehicle I have, that my wife and I finally had it and began to look at different options. We went to
several different dealerships but each one offered me a very low deal for the car and although so many places now have Spring Sales Events you def. have to look at their interest rates, many of them are super high so BECAREFUL!

A family friend came over for dinner one day and recommended we stop by and check out 21 Century Auto, so we called and spoke to a staff member, set up and appointment with David and stopped by. Long story shorter, they gave me a great deal on our car. They offered a little bit less than the other dealerships we looked at BUTthe new car we have was priced at an amazing rate with a great interest rate as well.  We worked together with David and Joe (the finance man as we call him). David had a really great sales personality, he understood our frustration and offered his help to help accommodate us. David worked out a better price on the car then we expected and Joe set up the payments to work with our economic standing. Overall, I would DEFINATLY suggest 21 Century Auto to anyone looking into purchasing a vehicle this year or any other! And as I promised our friend, thank you for helping us get our foot in the right door Shelly!

Would def. go back!

Im not really sure if this will help but I didnt have a problem with this dealership. In contrary, they were so helpful! They really helped me pick out a great vehicle and maybe if another person reads this, they will give them a shot. I think every customer deserves great service, especially while purchasing something so "costly". I suggest if anyone has a problem with their salesman, they deal with Mark or Aaron, they were fantastic!

Here is my experience:

Mark andAaron made my experience not only stress free but positive and enjoyable. Mark didnt rush me at all. Together we went through all the features of my expectant purchase and he really gave me extra information that I did not already know. Aaron helped me compare two different cars I was debating and offered me to test drive each one in order to see which one I was more comfortable driving. In would definitely refer anyone to the people at this dealership.

Honestly, they didnthave the typical over empowering and pushy sales attitude. They really took the time to make sure I was happy with my purchase and that I was comfortable with everything I signed. They offered me a great finance option that worked well for me and  the interest rate was AMAZING! I am a very happy customer and simply taking the time to write a shortreview after they took their time with me. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!

Gone fishing?

AUTHOR: James MK - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, March 26, 2012

Bait and tackle relates to trout and bass. The deceptive sales tactic is called bait and switch. I cannot conceive how a Google search yielded bait and tackle unless that car dealership also sells fishing supplies, which would be a rather unusual combination.

Cosumer comment

Ive experienced something similiar with other dealerships and find this report intresting because I had a great experience with this particular dealership. Ive found that sometimes as a consumer, we get the short end of the stick and are stuck to deal with people that aren't very bright. Maybe this person you dealt with did'nt know the right information. When I went, I only saw male sales reps. Maybe try another dales person or ask to speak to the sales manager before getting discouraged. This will also help the manager learn that his staff gave out mis information or maybe you misunderstood eachother.

Anyhow, here is how my experience went. Goodluck!

I purchased a 2005 Jaguar S from twenty first Century Auto. I usually dont write reviews but my sales rep. encouraged I write a review of my experience with this dealership, so if I had an issues, they could improve their services.Honestly, the only issue I had with these guys is that my appointment time got mixed up but evenso, when I arrived another sales representative accommodated my appointment and offered his assistance. The car I had previously to the one I purchased ended up going to my wife because her car needed to go. We invested so much money into getting it fixed and with over 100, 000 miles, the vehicle was beginning to constantly have problems so, she took my car and now I was in search of a replacement. We spent a couple of weekends going around to other dealerships to see what vehicle would interest us. I always dreamed of owning a Jaguar but never really thought that time would come. We already have an SUV for the family and I figured since I spend so much time driving back and forth for work purposes, it was time I invested the money into something I really wanted.
Twenty 1st Century was the last dealership I stopped by. I went to the BMW right next to them and on my way out, I saw these guys and figured I would check the rides out. I looked at different cars along with a salesman and figured I would come back with my wife. When I called I spoke to a young lady and set up an appointment with a salesman for the car that interested me.
I asked to make the appointment for 4pm and upon arrival the sales representative I had dealt with previously was busy but another very salesman named David assisted us. He was very well mannered, patient and encouraged us to test drive the car to make sure it was what we wanted. My wife really liked the car and for our family of three it was suitable. David took his time with us, answered our questions, offered us his personal opinion and stuck with us through the financial paperwork. The customer service was great and they offered us a better package then expected on the car without having to ask. I have driven the car to Pennsylvania and a couple times in the city as well as around NJ and I havent had a problem. Evenso, they told me if anything happened, they stood behind their vehicles and would fix anything that went wrong or replace the car if something were to occur. That made us feel very comfortable and really helped push us to make our ultimate decision. I have already recommended David and this dealership to a family member looking to purchase a car.
