Lifestyles Holidays Vacation Club LHVC This scam took us for over $18,000.00. Puerto Plata, Internet

In Nov 2011 my family and I took our first out of the country vacation to Puerto Plata. When we first arrived our rooms were not correct and on the second day we were moved to rooms with connecting doors which was what we were suppose to have. We spent 2 nights in a room close to the pool bar and barely got any sleep due to the noise. Not only were we tired, but it rained everyday and the food was terrible. So when the staff at lifestyles persistently harassed us at each meal about going on a tour, we gave in. After many hours of good food and lies, we were suckered into purchasing a 5 bedroom villa for the bargain price of 45,000.00.  I can't believe I was that dumb.  We were immediately moved to a beautiful villa with a private pool and a maid. The remaining meals were good and we enjoyed the rest of our vacation. The problem is that we were told we would be able to reserve weeks anywhere in the world using the sister resorts. We were told that we would receive books in the mail of all the resorts and that we could easily sell these weeks to make a profitable business.  No matter what question we had, they had a answer.  It seemed like a wonderful gift that we could pass on to our children. NOT!!!!!!!

Once we were back in the states and had internet available, we discovered that we had just made the biggest mistake of our lives.  I e-mailed them many times with requests for weeks at sister resorts. I either never received a response from them or they told me that nothing was available. How was I to sell weeks when nothing is available??? I told them that I wanted to cancel and that I wanted a refund. I was told that I could not cancel the membership. They said I had to cancel with in 3 days.  Now I can't pay for it.  My plan was to sell weeks to pay for the membership. My credit card company was no help and I continue to e-mail LHVC requesting a refund. They ruined a family vacation and we will never financially recover from this scam. The DR is beautiful but I would never go back or encourage others to go.
