I have had enough.  Being a competitor in Meca for the last few years has finally come to an end.  Meca is an organization that hosts car audio competitons with a rule book that competitors follow.  Entry fees range from $30-$200.  They have a world finals usually in the midwest.  I drove their last year, spending money on lodging, and meca entry fees.  Upon entering the show, i was told I do not qualify for the class I am in.  This is after numerous shows locally where I was confirmed in my class and there was not a problem.  Imagine how disapointed I was after driving thousands of miles only to be told I would have to compete in a higher class.  After a while, I got over it, kinda.  Recently, I have been informed based on a website called Diyma.com that this same body, Meca, has changed the rules once again after writing them, and even more disturbing, are taking competitors money only to be told that the rules were written incorrectly, and the spirit of the rule is different.  I feel really bad for this particular individual because they clearly followed the rules, and the only ones that disagree is Meca.  This has to stop. How can you say that the rules should have been written differently, and disqualify somebody because in Meca's mind, the rule was written incorrectly?  How can you disqualify somebody because in meca's mind they did'nt follow the rule you have in your mind.  you can find the thread here http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/12-volt-events-team-diyma/141480-meca-2013-rules-19.html

All people reading this, you have been warned.  Meca is taking money for entry fees with no guarantee that they will follow their own rules.  Their desire to be right shadows the reality of the situation.  EVERYBODY agrees they are wrong, including long time competitors.

Don't support Meca, Meca Car Audio, www.mecacaraudio.com, or Steve Stern.  Join another sound compeition organization.  One that follows the rules, and has the ability to listen to its competitors with sound reasoning.  Iasca seems to be doing things right.  Thats where I'll be competing from here on out.

Meca is a ripoff, taking money for entry fees and not honoring a fair playing field for its competitors by changing the rules to whatever they see fit for the day.  Steve Stern needs to refund all competitors entry fees and associated expenses to compete, that were affected by thier rule changes mid-season, for their lack of integrity and unfairness.

We are waiting Steve Stern!  Do the right thing

Please post here if you agree, or on the diyma site.  We need to expose this organization for what it is.  A ripoff.
