On my way home from work today about 4:15pm, my wife telephone me via cellphone and sounded a bit upset.  She told me that two men came to the door and was trying to sell some frozen meat to her. (She is Chinese and didn't understand exactly what they wanted) She asked that they leave and come back another day when she and I would be there.  The kept on and on and basically walked into the house and pressured her to purchase some of the products.  She asked them twice to leave as she had to leave for work and did not want to be late.  The two men kept on and on but she said no and to leave.  They told her to purchase only a few items and they would leave.  She did that so they finally left.

More Lies from Omaha Steaks

Again and again their excuse is "we don't sell door to door so it's not our responsibility", but what they DON'T ADMIT is that they DO sell their dead meat products to independent contractors who aren't TECHNICALLY employed by Omaha Steaks, and that no matter how many complaints they might get about a specific independent contractor, THEY DON'T CARE and they will do NOTHING about it. 

I know this for a fact because I had a bad encounter with one of their independent contractors and I called Omaha Steaks over and over again over the course of some weeks until they finally put me through to their company president.  Or at least somebody who claimed to be their company president, that's not exactly something that can be proven over the telephone, is it?  Regardless, that person who DID claim to be their company president said he knew the individual in Southern California that I was calling to complain about, and he also made very clear that he wasn't going to do anything about it because he DIDN'T CARE. 

Now the representatives of that creepy company try to go on the attack by saying I ought to know and say the name of the company president, as if it mattered!  Yes I did have his name written down on a piece of paper at one time, but I didn't retain it in memory.  What difference does it make?  Anybody can call the company and ask the name of their psychopathic company president if they want!  And I don't care what his name is, I just wanted him to be responsible -- but he refused.  All he has to do is stop selling his dead meat products to the independent contractors who represent his company poorly, which is what ANY responsible leader of ANY company would do. 

So if a company is irresponsible in one way (which you can tell from all the bad reports Omaha Steaks has gotten on this wonderful consumer website), the logical thing is to expect them to be irresponsible in other ways.  WORSE than abusive customer service people and independent contractors, OMAHA STEAKS DOES NOT TEST THEIR DEAD COW MEAT FOR MAD COW DISEASE AND THEY KNOW THEY COULD BE PASSING THE DISEASE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS -- BUT THEY DON'T CARE!
