My wife and I attended a 90 minute presentation at the Sheraton in Langhorne, PA for a company that called themselves PPV. They were selling memberships for a company called Elite travel. We were promised "COMPLIMENTARY" Gifts of 2 airline tickets to any destination in the US and 2 nights in a Marriott and we only had to show up. Yeah Right!
We got to their office 15 minutes early as they requested but the "90 minutes" didn't start until 5 minutes after the hour. They offered cold coffee and dressed like casino card sharks. Their were 6 other couples with the same hesitation as us but we all stayed because of the "insentive." They said we didn't have to buy anything or spend any money and they just wanted a YES or NO. WRONG!
All they wanted was a YES and it was very high pressure. They asked for nearly $10,000 up front with cash or credit card and after we said NO a half dozen times they said they were getting us our "Free" Tickets. WRONG AGAIN! After we said no, our representative Brian handed us over to the "Boss" who wouldn't give us his name or business card when we said we would consider it in the future. He then proceeded to try and sell us again until i demanded we get our gifts or leave! He got us the gifts and hastely had us sign something that releases liability from the company without explaining it at all.
Why didn't he want us to look over the "Free" Gifts? Because they WERE NOT FREE and HAD BLACKOUT DATES! We couldn't use them to go to Hawaii at all. We couldn't use them a week before or after any holidays. The "Marriott" promised was a Courtyard Marriott, not a standard Marriott. We had 1 year to mail them in and use them but had to plan at least 60 days in advance! Lastley, they weren't free at all! We were responsible for the taxes and fees of nearly $150.00!!!!
All-in-all, we feel swindled and companies that promise items 'too good to be true' usually are just that. My wife of 22 years was coerced on the phone to come into a presentation. I left early from work to entertain the idea of a free trip. We've always wanted to go to Hawaii and thought this would've been the oportunity, but as mentioned it wasn't even available. And it not only ruined my afternoon but we basically recieved NOTHING because I refuse to pay for something that was said to be free.

Well, you get a travel voucher at the end of the presentation that has to be redeemed within a year from the day of the presentation. The travel vouchers work with all the US Airlines, they're good for two round-trip airfares for two adults, you pay the taxes and fees at the time of the flight, and you cannot travel 7 days before or 7 days after a holiday. Also, our member base outshines other similar companies, therefore giving us access to the largest inventory in the industry. Had you chosen to become a member, you would have had direct access to large savings, personalized service and a seamless vacation process. We do not want our exclusive travel club and its thousands of happy members to feel alarmed, as our company is one of the best in the industry with an array of benefits to offer potential members.
