Shasta County Department of Child Support Services I have been trying to get child support for years to no avail. CA Child Support started sending me a check once or twice a month. Then the checks to me stopped but they continued to take money from my P.O. Box 989063 West Sacramento, California

     I started receiving child support a couple of years ago. At the time my "Baby" was 25 years of age so I was quite surprised at this amazing happening.
   
 Arizona started with the child support. At that time California was also taking money out of my child's father's wages. When I called to inquire about this I was told were using that money for back pay to the state. I left it at that.
   
 Approximately 2 months later I started receiving occasional payments from California for child support. I was also still receiving child support from Arizona where I resided @ the time.
   
 I received child support from California Child Support Services for a short time. When I called to find out why they hadn't sent my files to Arizona I was told he only owed $37 more & then the file would be closed.
   
      I did receive that last payment from California but my child's father called me to ask why California was still taking money from his wages. I called several times & left many messages as I couldn't seem to catch anyone @ work but I didn't receive any replies.
   
 When I finally got a hold of the person in charge of my case & was able to ask why, if my case was closed were they still taking money out of his wages & I was treated like a simpleton & told very rudely that I wouldn't understand. We spoke @ some length but I never got an answer to my question & was finally told that it was none of my business.
   
 Now the reason I called was that my child's father was told they couldn't tell him anything & although I do feel he should be paying the child support I don't feel that it is fair to him to have the government double dipping. After all he needs to be able to survive himself. I never was able to get an answer from her.
     
 One day I had an appointment with Child Support Enforcement in Phoenix. After our business was taken care of I asked them about the problem I was having with California Child Support Enforcement & amazingly they said they would look into it. Even more amazing I started receiving child support from California a month & a half later.
   
 Now I never did find out where that money disappeared to but I did receive child support for a little while. I just received my last payment from them. It was for $ 00.33 cents. I haven't cashed it. I find it too funny that it cost more to mail it to me than the check I received.
     
 Neither my X nor myself have ever been able to find out what happened to that money. It was quite a bit & it just disappeared into thin air. I gave up trying to talk to them as I'm treated so rudely but I would really like to know what happened to the money.
