Friday Oct 30 2009 I noticed my car was running hot.  I stopped at texaco express lube in smyrna ga and asked if they were a full service shop.  The mechanic on duty said yes. I told him that my car was running hot and asked if they could take a look at it.  He told me that they could look at it to see what was wrong.  After about 10mins James the manager of that shop came and said I needed radiator service and that's it.  I asked if he was sure that's all i needed and he replied yes! After 5mins he came back and said the pcv valve needed replacing and the fuel system needed to cleaned as well which was contributing to the car running hot.  After the work was done I paid 160 for everything and left.  Five minutes down the road it was running hot again and smoking. I returned to the shop to let them know it was not fixed.  He then came out stood over the car for a few minutes and filled some part of the car with more fluid.  After he did that he gave me a card to another mechanical shop that was located down the street. He said they were more experienced with this type of thing and could look at it more to see what was wrong.  I asked him then what did i pay you for if the car is still running hot and I just left the shop five minutes ago.  He replied he didn't know and that I should go to the shop and have them look at it and then come back.  I went to the shop they recommended and they said they couldn't look at it until Monday.  I then went back to the texaco shop and asked if i could be refunded my money because the car was still running hot.  The "manager" James said there was nothing he could do and that I would have to talk to the district manager Luke to settle this.  I asked why the said %100 customer satisfaction on the receipt and he said that I would have to call the district manager and he could do nothing.  I left and went to Firestone where they said I had a cracked radiator and needed to replace it.  That alone cost $390.  So I paid to get it replaced and the car runs fine now.  I would have not paid texaco xpress lube 160 to work on a cracked radiator that I was going to have to replace for $400.  Obviously the mechanics were incompetent and did not know what they were doing.  Also they did not want to put anything in writing that I had returned to show the car still running hot.  I am still trying to contact the district manager and have left several messages.  I have receipts and evidence of all the work I had done and documents from the mechanics showing the radiator was cracked and the xpress lube receipt shows the car was running hot when I arrived.  I am going to give the manager some time to contact me otherwise im going to have to file a case against them because anyone can see this is obviously a ripoff and I have all the evidence to prove it.
