This go`s back to 2007 and unfortunately i did not heed nor was given any warning for what a huge mistake i was about to get suckered into.  well it all seemed great in print and the big flashy colorful  2 page spread in the truck paper certainly made it seem like a legitimate venture, so after many "reassuring" phone calls to matt@utg i was on my way to miss. we were gonna make a "fair trade" along with some cash of course,   and i was gonna be an "owner operator" had work lined up and was ready to make some money, thats where it all goes down hill.

upon my arrival in miss i was greeted with nothing but smiles and handshakes, well upon reviewing the vehicles available for lease or whatever there scam is actually called i was quickly reminded that most of the "trucks" would be out of my price range as vehicle payment would be relative to the size of your down payment.   now im no kid and have been in trucking all my life but i "Should have followed my instinct and just went back home" but i needed work and after all how bad could it be right?

after spending a couple of days in gulfport and being more or less told this is "all we got" to offer i kinda settled on (and i wonder how many more times this vehicle has been flipped to another unsuspecting sucker) a RED 2000 Kenworth W900l with a million plus on the odometer,  shure it had some major issues but i was a believer and i would be willing to over look some small defects "if i could just get goin" and making money.

well back in 2007 you did not get anything from UTG you were on your own, totally empty fuel tanks, filthy inside dirty bunk mattress, the sleeper leaked so much water the bunk floor had turned to ice, mix and match tires brakes etc... and oh yeah NO temp NO transporter plates no nothing, and oh yeah NO Insurance, good luck!

after running out of fuel (inop fuel gauge?) i made it home 1200 miles, i parked the truck at my house within a few hours the entire outline of the truck was imprinted on the ground from all the oil that leaked out during my voyage home, that should have been a warning right there that i was in over my head. So i thought i was doing the right thing and contacted UTG about the oil leaks etc.. and was informed to take the truck to a reputable shop and have them call UTG  But i had committed to lease the truck on with a reputable carrier so i would have them look at it instead.   Well as my journey continued to the new carrier and this is where it gets good,     I notice smoke coming from a rear brake and notice a little gear oil coming out of a break drum, ok so i take the truck to a large truckstop chain location and early the next morning i was informed that the rear axle had no gear oil in it and the axle bearings had become seized to the axle spindle/  5 days and probably a hundred phone calls later all the while UTG trying to shift the blame to me "should have checked the oil levels" that problem was resolved.

Upon a lot of scrutiny as to why the vehicle is covered in oil by the  company i am about to lease to we agree the truck has a terrible blow by problem accompanied by a crushed oil pan and as soon as i can get it repaired the better, So at my expense the oil pan was removed and somewhat repaired along with a laundry list of other items by the people i was leased to  and all the while from the beginning and to the point that i was not even home nor leased to the carrier and generating revenue the COLLECTION CALLS STARTED including calling my house and asking my wife for the money.
My carrier quickly routed my back to UTG to have the blow by problem, 3 days later im leaving gulfport with the same problems i came in with, They tell you "if you want us to honor our warranty you will have to come to us" Time is on UTGs side not yours. than there was the fuel leak i was informed again by UTG to take it to a rep shop and have it looked at once informed of the cost to repair i was informed i could pay it myself or "bring it to gulfport"/ i fixed it myself for $6.50 in parts.

There are many  more things to say about UTG and none of them are good, i could not afford to run that vehicle for very long as i was putting (buying) a gallon of oil a day to keep it running so that along with the cost of fuel skyrocketing in 2007 i had no choice (it was kinda obvious) but to get out of the truck and take a total loss.   i became unemployed we gave every penny we had along with my HD motorcycle.   thats how it ends with UNITED TRUCK GROUP every time for everyone that makes the same mistake! heed this warning along with everyone else that has  commented.   This is on your conscience matt, you cannot go around pulling this scam forever without retribution.

i hope there is a class action lawsuit against these thieves im in!
