USA Truck Just stay away from this company. Van Buren Arkansas

This company is the biggest joke I've ever seen. I started working here with the intention that I would be making $.32 cpm and receive a $5000 sign-on bonus. They followed through with the bonus (it would be broken down over a period of a year); however, my pay was marginally decreased.

I went from making $.32 cpm to $.19 3/4 cpm + a $.10 cpm per diem. This means that I was only making $.29 3/4 cpm. I was running my butt of weekly trying to bring home a good check, but the only good check I ever received was when I received a portion of my bonus!

When I contacted USA Truck about my pay being decreased, they said that because I was on per diem, my CPM rate was broken down into two sections. One was a taxed portion and the other was untaxed. The taxed portion was the $.19 3/4 cpm amount and the untaxed was the $.10 cpm. I told them that this only equals $.29 3/4 cpm but they denied that and said that I'm still making $.32 cpm.

I had gotten mad at a prior dispatcher because I thought he wasn't giving me the right miles because there was no way I could be driving 1500-2000 miles a week but only bringing home $200-300 checks.

When I quit, I made an agreement with C. Bynum in Operations Manager. He promised me $75 by a Comchek when I picked up the load and then told me I would receive the other $75 onced I dropped the truck/trailer in Georgia (which is 5 hrs from where I live.) He told me that if they had to recover the truck from my house, they would put an "abandoned truck" report on my DAC Report. I agreed. He sent the messages over the Qualcomm and I followed the orders as stated.

I left the truck and trailer in the Conley, Georgia TCW drop yard and left the keys in an envelope that was signed/dated by the security officer in the TCW guardhouse.

After leaving 5 messages to Mr. Bynum, I finally got in touch with him two days later and he stated that he was told my truck and trailer was left in Forest Park, Georgia and refused to give me my additional $75 as promised.He then told me that he can no longer talk to me since I am no longer an employee of USA Truck and hung up on me.

This company is the most poorly ran, poorly manager, poorly employeed company I have ever dealt with. I will be contacting a lawyer about the pay rate/per diem issue and am continuing to fight over my additional money. If you know what's best for you, you will NOT even think about going to this company. Stay away!
