TOTAL GYM DANGEROUS EQUIPMENT DO NOT PURCHASE SAFETY LATCH COMES LOOSE Internet

I purchased the TOTAL GYM XLS back in June, 2011. At first, it worked quite well, although setting it up was more dangerous than I had anticipated. My finger nearly got caught in the contraption and it could have really hurt my hand. For this reason, I decided to leave it set up, although it takes up a lot of room. The informercial is very deceptive. It is not at all easy to set up and/or disassemble and store.

Since then, the safety latch that you have to put into place each time you use the machine works loose and the machine could easily come crashing down while you are using the device.  I have to check it several times while using the machine to make sure it does not come loose and I've had to get off the machine and adjust it!  I have called them to let them know about this, and they won't do anything about it.  What I was told was that since I'm past the 30 day trial period, there is nothing they can do. Now I'm stuck paying $99 per month for this machine. 

I am about to write a letter to the head of the company complaining about this situation. I was told that if I wanted to return it, I would not get any of my money back but at least I would not be obliged to pay for it any longer.  However, I am responsible for boxing up this heavy machine.  I can't even move it as it's too heavy by far to drag outside (I live in an apt complex) and load into my car.  I guess I will have to get FedEx to come pick it up at home.

Take my advice and DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MACHINE!!!!
