Intercontinental Jewelers Houston bills themselves as a diamond wholesaler to the public, and master jewel smiths.  However, it is all a lie.

The business is apparently only owned and operated by an elderly couple, who are poor communicators, speak english poorly, and in hindsight, showed signs of early stage dementia.  However, they seemed harmless and Intercontinental Jewelers has supposedly been in Houston for several years, so I felt safe.

After I decided on a custom engagement ring design and a loose diamond for the setting, I paid 50% up front.  What I wasn't prepared for next were those early signs of dementia I mentioned: constant indecision on the price (on the part of the owner!), delays, excuses, and downright lies.  Finally after threatening to sue and issuing a chargeback on my credit card (thankfully I paid with credit for the protection!) I was able to get my 50% back that I had put down on my custom engagement ring.

Moral of the story:  ICJ Diamonds / Intercontinental Jewelers is to be avoided at all costs!!  The owners belong in a nursing home, not in a jewelry store ripping off unsuspecting customers.
