USA Fireworks Beware of Store Manager Job- Know what you are getting into Indianapolis, Indiana

Before accepting a season 45 day job with USA Fireworks, make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.

You will be extremely luck to get paid $3,000 in this job. The company puts that as the minimum you can make, but in reality, it all depends on your store's sales. Therefore, ask what your specific store made last year or the year before- and try to get proof because this company is not above lying. "Tell them what they want to hear" is their motto for their customers and their employees. The managers care about making money, which includes taking advantage of its employees as well.

For the amount of hours you will put in at this job, which is between 6 to 14 hours a day (during the weekend of the 4th), you will probably be making around $5-6 an hour when all is said and done. Not worth it!

When they say that you are getting paid tax-free or under the table, you are not. You will receive an Additional Income Form at the end of the year that you will have to claim. Many people like the appeal of getting paid under the table to save money and also if they are getting unemployment. If you are collecting unemployment and work for this company thinking you won't have to claim it, you are wrong.

Make sure you get a decent store or you will be suffering for 45 long days. Such things that apparently you need to ask are:

Does my store have a working bathroom? If not, you will have to drive or walk to another store's bathroom multiple times a day and maybe eventually they will get you a porta-potty.

Does my store have air conditioning? If not, the June and July months get pretty hot and you'll have to bring in your own fans and sweat it out.

Get everything in writing, and know all the tiny details of your store, its location, its success, etc before thinking about working for USA Fireworks!
