I was diagnose with Sleep apnea in 2003 and per my doctors recommendation, I visited AAA Medical to obtain my CPAP machine and supplies. When I first visited the store in 2003, everything went fine and all of the equipment and supplies are covered by my health insurance company.
During or around 2008 or 2009, I visited the AAA medical to purchased replacement of my CPAP machine and other items, everything was fine at first and a few months later, I began receiving CPAP replacement parts via UPS from this company.
I called and ask AAA why I receive this parts and that I didn't order them.. their replied was "we automatically mail these to you and bill directly to your insurance company.." and I asked "but I usually don't need to change them out this frequently.." and they said "well.. your insurance covered all these and you should just replace the parts as you receive them and why do you care.. you don't have to pay anything.." then I said "as long as I don't have to pay anything...".
In 2010 Aug, I received a bill from Rotech for $140.62 for the replacement parts..
I called their office and asked them about this and told them about the conversation I had with them before.. they told me this is probably just an error and they will bill my insurance company instead.
about a month or two later.. Rotech began calling me to collect the $140.62 and I explain that was a mistake.. since I was told more than once that my insurance cover 100%.. However, Rotech said.. they did review that and found that the $140.62 is part of my responsibility. I told them that it was not part of the agreement and I still have the UPS shipment unopen and they should take it back instead of billing me.
The person said.. it's been over 60 days since we shipped you the box; we do NOT accept the return of the parts. I told them that they need to dispute this and this is not part of the agreement and I also advise them to immediately stop any future shipment. Since that conversation, they have sent me 2-3 more shipment and I have contacted them 2 additional times to request pickup of their shipment and stop any additional shipment to my home. I continue to received another package from them last week and they also sent me to the collection agency for "past due".
Stay away from this company.. they are crooks!

Community Home Oxygen (Rotech) did it to me too!

After numerous lies by the Manager of the Rock Springs WY. location, I canceled my account and all relationships but they thought they would show me. They continued to send items I hadn't ordered OR AUTHORIZED. I contacted My Insurance carrier, Altius, the Wyoming Department of Health and the Wyoming Attorney General's office filing a complaint of fraudulent shipping & billing. They were investigated and finally, Sleep Central (another Rotech subsidiarity) contacted me; just "full of apologies" and guaranteed that per my request, I would never hear from them again. To-date, I still get automated calls and am about to file some more complaints!
I suggest that anyone having similar problems with a Rotech company files a complaint with their insurance, their State Health Department and State Attorney General. Eventually, Rotech will get it or get out!
