The waldorf school in Sarasota was quick to take my money but left my kid unprepared academically and unable to fit in to any other school in the area.
My kid's self esteem was damaged at the next school because he was so far behind academically. The Sarasota waldorf school was no help at all.
My only option was to hire a tutor which was very expensive because the new school was so concerned at how far behind he was.
After making some calls, I found that there are other families who have had the same experience with this school and are very unhappy too.
It is important to know what you are getting into when you enroll with this crowd.

It's a shame

It's a shame that those who posted the negative comments don't have the intellectual integrity or critical thinking skills (or both) to provide a realistic view of the school and their concerns. The posters failed to mention that 98% or more of the parents are satisfied with Waldorf-Sarasota. They also failed to mention the number of former students who are now in middle school and high school that actively advocate for the school. And they don't mention the number of students who transition from Waldorf Sarasota to the public school system directly into the gifted programs.
I have three children who collectively have attended a number of public schools, three private schools (including Waldorf and Montessori), and two technical schools. I know that not every school or program is a good fit for every child. I also know that Waldorf Sarasota is a great fit for my child.
As much as I have grown to appreciate what Waldorf education brings, it probably is not the perfect fit for every student. Parents should be able to recognize issues and resolve them without trying to destroy the reputation of an institution or business who has an overall very satisfied customer base.
