I found this driving school and signed my son up to take his initial classes to become a registred driver in Maryland.  I paid the required fees and my son started the classes.  It started off that my son commented that he could not understand the instructor as the person teaching the class speaks with a very strong Spanish accent.  The school is owned by a Latino family and they do not have any American instuctors available.  This makes the class more difficult as much of the important information could not be communicated to the students.  My son is a strong student and studied out of books to cover the holes left by not understanding the instructor.  They big problem started when we received a call from the instructor that he wanted my son to change his driving class from 4:00PM to 2:00PM on the spur of the moment.  The driving instructor called my son at 1:00 PM  asking him to be at the driving school by 2:00 PM as another student did not show up for his scheduled appointment.  My son was in class until 2:45 PM and could not accomodate the change in schedule.  Well, they charged us $50 for not making the "changed" appointment.  I refused to pay and argued that our appointment was not until 4:00 PM.

The bottom line was that they have the upper hand.  I was told that I either pay the extra $50 or my son would not finish the rest of the driving hours.  When my son had to miss an evening of instruction, we were charged another $40 for missing on day of instruction and the make up class.  As a result of missing the one class and having to make up the class, he was not allowed to take his final exam until the class was made up (the earliest that this can be accomplished is during the next session - 2 weeks later).  Now we had to pay an additional fee for the exam day that HE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO ATTEND, and we paid another $40 for making up the exam day that he was not allowed to participate in as he missed one class.  When speaking to other students, there seems to be no student that is not charged at least another $100 above the normal fees charged by this school.  They are scam artists and my son would have done better learning online vs. the classroom instruction that he received.  The teachers are not prepared, the heavy latin accents makes it difficult to understand the instruction and  worst the school is not located in a very good part of Annapolis.  The instructor will finish the class early every single night and close his school and leave with several younger students waiting outside in a poorly lit, prone to crime part of town. This is not a safe environment and I would expect that the school be kept open until the students are picked up by their parents.

This has been one of the worst experiences for us and what is susposed to be an exciting time for our daughter, turned into a complete nightmare.

The owner of the school is scaming people out of money and every student that took the class with our daughter felt ripped off and taken advantage off.

I had three daughters in this school over the last 13 years and will be enrolling my son very soon. My children are all white caucasion and do not speak spanish and did not have any problems following the lessons nor was I charged any extra fees. This complaint was about this persons son in the class and at the end the author mentions the bad experience the daughter had. Based on my history with the school and the contradiction in the body of the complaint I believe it to be false or exaggerated.
