BD funding is a young and small merchant cash advance funding company in Brooklyn, NY.  During the short time I worked there, they lied about the compensation, leads and sales process.  I was hired for isnide sales and not informaed that I was an independent contractor.  I was told there was a base salary of $300 per week, then told there was no base but rather a $300 weekly payment only after closing sales of at least $20,000.

I requested a signed and written independent contractor agreement and did not receive one.

Five sales people resigned or left in the short three weeks I was there.

The leads were old and inaacurate, yet the sales people kept hammering them to try to close sales.  Because BD Funding is a broker and not a direct lender, no one knew who woul review anj application, what the status was and it was very difficult to give accurate and timely information to applicants.

Some of the sales people were rude to customers and prospects and there were no conistent guidelines, processes or systems followed for psoepcting, sales and customer  serviuce.

The owner and managment did not seem to know what they were doing, could not offer clearn explanations and answers or retain staff.

This is a company to be avoided.  there are better run cash advance companies.

The Responsible thing to do is to contact the Management

AUTHOR: DavidHiggins - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 27, 2014

In regards to the above complaint reagrding BD Funding in Brooklyn, NY. I am David Higgins and am the Director of Marketing. BD Funding is a year old company that specializes in Merchant Cash Advances for small businesses that cannot use traditional banks.

As per how employees are paid; this is a commision based position. Meaning that for every Business Advance the employee closes, they get a commission based on a percentage of the loan. This is not a job for someone who cannot call 200-300 merchants a day, do cold calling, make the hard sell.

Now I cannot speak for when you were here, however the employees that currently work here are hard-working individuals who get paid each week based off of their closes.

If you have an issue regarding any payment that may or may not be due to you, you should inquire with the owners and settle it. By just posting a inflammatory post with no evidence makes you sound like a person who wasn't cut out for the position.... either way; any issues with payment need to be addressed through Management and the Owners. Please take the time to contact them discuss your issue. Thank you.
