I received a call @ my place of employment 8:50am this morning. This guy advised my co-worker he was calling from the State Investigation Dept. He said his name was Jim Barker (This guy had a very strong Indian accent). I got on the phone with him & he proceeded to tell me I owed $300. to Cash Advance USA. I advised him I NEVER applied for a loan & asked how he got my information. This gut had my Social Security number & my email address. I stated the Social Security number he had was incorrect to try & throw him off. He stated that if I didn't give him a credit card or my bank account information I would be arrested within 72 hrs. I asked him for a badge number since he stated he was law enforcement, He provided me w/CFI8901. I asked for the phone number/address of the company that he was representing, I was put on hold then transferred to another guy w/a strong Indian accent who stated his name was Mike Johnson .... Really ??? I advised him I was calling the proper authorities to check THEIR references & was hung up on.

..and you did the right thing. But ....how did they have all the other info about you? Typically they get this from people that apply for payday loans onllne. So you must have done so willingly, or were suckered. Seriously dude think about it. How on EARTH would this scammer have your SS number and email address if you did not submit it to some D-bag at one time or another? Think?
