I have a Capital one card I had been behind in so they call and offer me a payoff for the card for $900.00, the actual bill was for $1100.00 so I worked out a payment schedule to pay this off and close the card out, I took the name if the individuals name who was working on this with me and her ext number to cover all my bases, When these dates were set they did not co inside with my pay period so I called them back and of course to a different person than whom I had spoke with earlier  to change it a couple days, I was at no time ever told that this would make the agreement null and vod so I send them $900.00 to close the account, thought it was was end of story,
Of course not, the card was never closed and I was changed the annual fee and of course interest!
So I call them back to be informed the card was never closed and I owed all this money, I then asked for it to be closed again,
Now we are in a midst of a battle with them and they now want $1400.00 fir a card that has not been used in 2 years! I have lost money from time lost at work and I have paid for this already through an original agreement
Even the lawyers paperwork has nothing stating that if the dates were changed that it would have null and voided the original agreement and not closed the card, what they are saying it was, was to get it down to where we could use the card again, this is after 3 phone calls to close this card! We are so lost and confused and upset

No you have taken it completely wrong and really out of hand....We at no point thought it was their duty to bend to our rules,it was literally the wrong dates and was worked out with the person in the phone during the time of the arrangement, what I was getting it in a round about way is the original person and the second person did not do their work and it ended up like this,We were not so far behind that we could not pay the 900.00 dollars so please do not think that we were not taking care of the issue, somewhere in all of the phone calls etc someone did not do their job in documenting the situation and it has led to this and over a 900.00 dollar settlement, they now want another 1400.00, I have all transactions and paperwork except neither of us do not have anything stating that  if it was not paid on the first date that the original agreement was null and void our word against theirs with no proof on either side, anyways after 3 phone call the card should have been closed, and for further reference it was a mistake on or part of the dates of payment by a couple days, managed to look at the wrong month, nothing malicious no reason to screw a big company over 'the 900.00 was paid I have cancelled checks they just never bothered to close the account per the agreement

Another just shoot me in the head post. Here's a person who is "behind" in their credit card payments. The bank offers to drop $200 off their balance of $1,100(18%) stop any more interest and penalties if the cardholder agrees to a certain payment plan. Because it's not CONVENIENT for the cardholder's pay day, the cardholder wants the bank to change THEIR TERMS. I'm gonna take a wild stab and assume you agreed to the terms when you spoke with them the first time. Kind of like when you AGREED with the bank's terms when you accepted the card. Look at it this way. Twice YOU have agreed to pay them back under certain terms and TWICE you have failed to live up to those terms. Whose really the bad guy here?
