I have a private student loan with Sallie Mae, in which my mom is a co-signer. I was unemployed for more than a year, so I couldn't make the payments. Now I'm employee again, so I started making payments through this company, they said Sallie Mae gave them my account. The issue is that they tried to obligate my mom to use her credit card and her bank account to pay the loan in full, they keep calling her telling that they know everything about her, her bank accounts, the house she lives in, her credit score and that they're (without her consent) are going to freeze her bank accounts, take her money away and make a charge to her credit card in order to make her pay the loan. My mom is very nervous, she has a heart condition called tachycardia and she had to go to emergency room after their calls, she almost has a heart attack. This debt is my responsibility and I'm not denying to pay them, but I just have a situation for this month and they didn't receive the payment as scheduled, so they begin threaten, harassing and bullying my mom. I want them leave my mom alone and stop calling her, and, they are making me pay 10.00 additional dollars for their "services", I don't have to be paying them anything, I want to pay directly to Sallie Mae, I'm tired about this people and, if something happens to my mom, they will have to pay, although this action wont returns my mom's life back. I'm desperate, please, somebody, Help me!!! There's gotta be something a lawyer or the law can do about this people!
