Cottman / Cobra transmission Quoted price on transmission rebuild for $2,800 then next day and raised price to $3,300, then lowered the price to $2,600 Independence, Missouri

Day one I Had vehicle towed to Cottman / Cobra Transmission 1200 S Noland rd Independence Mo. They said the RDI, remove, disassemble, and inspect would be $450.00 plus the $50.00 tow,

Day two the Mgr Bill called and quotes me a price of $2,822 which after I checking around was about $400.00 more than the other local transmission shops. 
                                                                    
Day three the Mgr Bill calls me and says that it's going to cost more, over $3,300, and that was $500.00 more than the original quote which raised some Red Flags,
 
I told him I would call him back.  So I got on the Internet and found a complete newly rebuilt transmission for $1,700.   So I called Bill back and said that was too high and I could get it done cheaper than the $3,300,     I then arranged for a tow truck to tow my vehicle elsewhere to get repaired.     After about 30 minutes I received a call from Bill the mgr at Cottman/ Cobra and he said after talking to his boss he could do it for $2,600,     I asked him how he could quote me a price of $2,800 then raise it to $3,300 and then lower it to $2,600 even less than the original quote and he told me he was doing me a favor and that he couldn't do that for everyone.      I told him no I was coming to pick up my vehicle.  I had to take my truck to haul the transmission they disassembled and was completely in pieces and boxes.    And to top that off While I was waiting on thier lot for the tow driver one of the employees of Cottman came out to search through the transmission pieces they had just put in my truck for pieces of another vehicle,   I ended up paying $500.00 to be Mislead Lied to and cheated.   Calling the owner didn't help any either since they didn't get my business.  But I intend to spread the word through social channels and word of mouth that Cottman / Cobra transmission on 23rd and Noland rd Independence Mo does not follow fair business practices and make up their prices depending on how you react to their quotes and how vulnerable they think you are.
