In July of 2012 I was involved in a not-at-fault total loss accident where my vehicle was destroyed and my passenger and I were injured as a result. The party at fault ran the red light and was driving without a valid license, he was arrested on the scene. A day later I visited a doctor who began treatment on me for my injuries, I got xrays taken that show my injuries caused by the accident.

Dairyland Insurance however, despite never having a PIP claims within the 15+ years that the policy was used was looking immediately on every what possible to "investigate" and find an excuse to not pay for the treatment. Part of Dairyland's failure to act responsibly was to assign me a 2nd opinion doctor not 1 week after the accident, not 1 month after the accident, but two months after the accident took place. Upon visiting the 2nd opinion doctor I had already finished my treatment with my primary doctor and the 2nd opinion doctor determined that I was healthy and didn't require any treatment at any point.

Dairyland used the excuse that I was healthy two months after the accident to justify themselves for not paying ANY medical bills. As a car company I understand that a 2nd opinion is a common practice but usually these tend to take place when injuries still exist, not two months after when the patient is already finished treatment, by logic everyone would be fine. My passenger who is with Geico insurance received their PIP treatment within a week, in my case its been over two months and they refuse to pay anything.

Bottom line is, though we've been loyal customers this company seems to be a greedy fly by night corporation, I will be terminating my policy with these crooks next month when the policy expires.
